{CRYSTAL'S CLOSET}: FASHION WEEKLY Ep20.

Hello gorgeous people!

Believe it or not? You are reading the Episode 20 of Crystal's Closet!!!! I still feel like I've just celebrated my 10th Episode not so long ago, and now it's Episode 20 already? That's crazy!

20 episodes are equal to 20 weeks of featuring everyday outfit which means it has been going on for 5 months without fail. That also means I've been taking so many photos shamelessly everyday, everywhere I go: in the car park, at home, in the garden, on the street, in shopping mall, in the building, even in the industrial park and... in the toilet. Very lame, sometimes. YES! But I can't help!!! Talk about my work dedication and commitment!

In return of all these craziness, I've received so many sponsorships from many fashion brands locally and oversea. Some stuffs you have seen from my previous posts, there are many more to come and I'll show you. All the sponsored items are personally picked and styled by me. So if you are interested in buying any of these pieces? Feel free to make a purchase on my blog by clicking to their website links.

I think most of my blog readers are silent readers. Meaning, they read but are lazy to comment. Another weird thing that I notice is more than 50% of my blog readers are male while I mainly write about female's stuffs, lolz. I assume that they are reading my blog to understand and to learn how to treat their woman better *ahem*.

So, gentlemen! We- women love shopping and it would be great if our boyfriend/ husband does not only love shopping with us but also be able to give some good opinions, advices rather than just saying "I don't know. Up to you!" It's such a turn off!

And the worst case? Instead of putting an effort to make your wife look prettier, you go and check out  other girl's ass outside. That's not cool!

Ok! I might sound a little bit defensive here but that's true story happens everyday.

Last week was such a relaxing week for me with a long holiday. Did you guys have a good holiday too? I hope you did. Life is getting more stressful nowadays, we need to balance ourselves, relax and spend more time with our loved ones.

Now, let's get a glimpse of my last week activity and outfits!

Monday
Just got a new mustard chiffon shirt from Forever21 and I immediately thought of pairing it up with my leopard skirt because it has a shade of yellow. That's how it turned out! Perfect match!

Tuesday
Recently I'm obsessed with electric blue and its hues like royal blue, purple blue, light blue etc...They are so eye-catching and pretty. I got instantly attracted to all the blue clothing when I went to Forever21 and I got 3 different dresses with 3 different shades of blue, lolz. This is one of them!

A-line button shirt-dress with transparent V shape at the back and teasing transparent neckline.  Even the bra line area is designed to be shown tastefully, I still gotta use a heavy necklace to cover it up regardless I didn't want to -_-. It's just inappropriate to meet clients in that teasing outfit.

Accessories: Forever21

Wednesday
Running an errand in this red pants and floral chiffon blouse. Notice I've been playing with lot of color and prints or texture lately? It's one of the tricks in pairing your outfit. For instance, I chose red pants to match with the red flowers print on the shirt instead of black one as what people normally do. Nothing fancy or complicated but it works.

Thursday
Back to feminine and sweet look with this pink-blue pencil dress. I love pencil dress! It's the ultimate expression of taste and sensibility. Not only it incorporates the feeling of confidence but also projects sophistication and sexuality of a woman.

I am too feminine for words, am I not?

                                                Friday

Party-work combo look is here for those who have been asking me about "How to dress up for work and for a party at the same time?". I was wearing a romper inside and layering a thin blazer outside. Not bad isn't it? You just need to take the blazer off when you go for a party or even a date. ;)

Summer romper: Forever21 (similar)
Blazer: H&M
Shoes: Forever21 (similar)

At night, I went to a newly opened club with my friends at Esplanade for some drinks. I went back back home for a 20 minutes quick shower, touch up and change before heading out.

That was my day & night make up transformation without removing any makeup on the eyes area.

Friday night outfit: Deep V-neck top and Jean. As simple as that!

Last but not least, this is gonna be the most exciting part! I'm gonna have my 2nd give away to celebrate the 20th episode when I'm back from Vietnam. Flying off tomorrow and I can't wait to go back and hug my cutest nephew. He is getting bigger and I'm so afraid he's not gonna recognize me as his aunt If I don't go back to see him often.

Wish you guys a fabulous weekend and stay tuned til the next blog entry where I'll announce what the next GIVEAWAY will be! Excited!

See you soon!
Love,
Crystal

WEEKLY UPDATE & AVALON'S GOT TALENT!

Aloha everyone!

Weekend is here and it's a long holiday for us. "Selamat Hari Raya Aidilfitri" to all my Muslim friends. No matter how good or bad your week was, it's time to let it go, relax and stay focus on what's next.

This is gonna be a long blog entry which combines 2 Weekly Wardrobe episodes into 1 and a lot of photos for you to see. Sorry for delaying though, I was so busy and totally didn't have time to blog.

Anyway, here are the outfit photos of what I wore the week before last week.

Monday
White stripe on black chiffon shirt from Forever21 with white pants. I don't understand why many people don't like to wear white pants. They are so elegant, pure and chic. Most of the time, when I recommend my friends to try on the white pants, they always give me the same objection "It's easy to get dirty", "It makes me look fat" or "It looks gay" (for a guy). That's not true. Believe me! Whether it's "Yay" or "Nay", it really depends on how you wear it, what to mix, what to pair with a white pants that compliments your body and look. But first of all, you must be willing to try it on.

Tuesday
Lace shirt, hot pink pencil skirt and a pony tail hairstyle. When wearing lace, sheer or see-through outfit, don't forget to wear same color camisole or solid color bra with full coverage inside. Remember, you want to look sexy, not slutty.

Lace shirt: MSGM (similar)
Pink pencil skirt: Forever21 (similar)

Wednesday
Super-woman! That's what my friend called me when they saw me in this jumpsuit with big bold gold accessories. Like a wonder woman, lolz.

Bangles: Forever21
Gold choker: BEBE
Shoes: Forever21

Thursday
In reality, I think I'm a super-woman who can run and do many things at once. After work, I went for 2 hours heavy dance practice with my partner at Scape. We were practicing for a talent competition on Sunday. Only 4 days practicing for a real show, that's how heavy our practices were. I love dancing but I hate last minute preparing like that and I keep complaining it to my partner all the time. He just ignores coz he knows i will still do it in the end. I'm so soft-hearted, I think.

That's my dance partner was trying to feed me some foods after my dance practice. Very sweet of him!

Friday
Cute chiffon top from Forever21 with a HUGE heart shape in front. My size might be small but my heart is bigger than yours :D.

Chiffon blouse: Forever21
Jeans: DKNY
Earrings: Swarovski (similar)

Saturday
Went for dance practice and rehearsal again as there was only 1 day left to our competition and I still couldn't remember our routine yet. It was changed completely and I had to remember everything within 4 days. It was crazy.
I and my partner on the cab heading to Avalon club for our rehearsal.

Sunday
Competition day. I got myself prepared with all the makeup, costumes and accessories.

Smokey eyes makeup and red lips. What do you think?

with costumes and accessories on. We were pretty much ready.

One more pose before getting up on stage.

In action.

"I'm flying without wings"

Thanked to all the audiences, supporters. We were selected into final of Avalon's Got Talent- a talent competition organized by Avalon club. After finishing our dance, I quickly left the place and headed home as it was 1.30am. I had to get up early at 7.30am for work -_-

Monday
Despite sleeping at 3am, I managed to get up at 7.30am sharp without feeling tired or exhausted at all. A little sleepiness, yes but that's about all. Don't ask me how and where did I get such great energy. I have no idea.

Here I was looking so fresh and sweet in my Hi-low royal blue shirtdress from F21 with the butterfly necklaces.

Tuesday
Vintage look with a new pair of vintage earrings I just bought, peach color chiffon blouse paired up with beautiful hi-low skirt from Forever21. I super love this skirt because it made me feel extra feminine. It gave me so much movement and freedom when I walked and created such a beautiful picture frame when the wind blew it up.

Simple makeup and hair. Notice my ultra-long earrings? :D

Peach chiffon shirt:  Forever21
Hi-low skirt: Forever21

Wednesday
Double seriousness with black chiffon blouse and suede circle skirt. It's also a good combination, color- balance between black and beige colors. While black color sometimes makes you look slightly older than your actual age, beige/ nude color usually makes you look younger. Another tip, whenever you want to make yourself look younger or feel younger, try on a full circle skirt. It's a Sweet  Young Thing kinda clothing that you should not miss out. :D

Beige circle skirt: Net-a-porter (similar)
Black pumps;  Jessica Simpson (similar)
Sunglasses: Coach
Belt:  French Connection (similar)

I was too busy on Thursday running around with few meetings back to back so I didn't have time to snap photo of my outfit. And Yes, I was lazy too.

Friday
Party time! I went out for dinner and drink with my friend on Friday night at Club street and was wearing my favorite bodycon dress from Forever21. Got this dress for only S$17 and it turned out to be amazingly beautiful...on me *evil laugh*.

Saturday.
Another day preparing for our final dance at Avalon's Got Talent. I and my partner were so stressed out because we had a very difficult dance step that we couldn't get it done properly. It required our great coordination, strength, stamina and timing...Of course many injuries, bruises and pain too. And guess what? We only had 1 day to practice for it. I was so nervous. Luckily, on Saturday, we had a chance to practice at the most expensive, beautiful and luxurious dance studio ever in Marina Bay Sands hotel. The dance studio is huge with spectacular view all around. We danced much better in the studio like that. I wish it was mine -_-

Can you see how beautiful this dance studio is?

Sunday.
Got ready for the dance competition with my hair done first. I was wearing a cute bare back barbie doll top-dress which soon will be sold in My Crystal's Closet online store :D

With costume and makeup done.

I and my partner. We both got so nervous because we were the first contestant who performed.

Photo taking with other male dancers in the house.

Another cam-whoring shoot before we went up.

and here we were doing what we do best.

Spinning while audiences were screaming our name.

My signature pose: Upside-down split.

Thank God! We did it well. The crowd was crazy, screaming from beginning til the end of the show. It felt so great to be on stage, to perform, to show my passion and love.

We didn't win the 1st prize though, the group of 7 guys who danced hiphop won but we really enjoyed the time, the moment. I still remembered when I finished my dance and was walking down, everyone tried to hold my hand, gave me big smiles and said "You are amazing! It was awesome performance. Congrat". That made me feel so happy.

The competition ended around 1.30am and I quickly wrapped up everything to go back. Again, I gotta get up at 7.30am for work. Believe it or not? I was so sleepy and exhausted that I dozed off while I was walking to taxi stand. I got home at 1.50am, had a shower, washed my hair, removed makeup and went to bed at freaking 3.30am.

Now you know why I couldn't blog in the past 2 weeks? Lolz! *just kidding*. Ok! Not gonna give any excuse anymore, I'll try to blog more often because I know if I don't, you will miss me like mad.

For now, just enjoy your long holiday and don't think too much about work, stress, problem, etc...Your mind and your body need to rest. Give them a favor.

Me too! Time to zZzzzzz

See you in next post.

Crystal's Closet: Weekly Wardrobe (Ep17) with an up close & personal meeting with Michelle Phan!

I've been super busy lately -_-

I know I say it like millions times and you may presume I'm giving an excuse for being lazy to blog, lolz. But literally, ever single week, I'm always packed with activities and stuffs. Whenever I have time to read my old Weekly Wardrobe episodes, I'm always amazed at how many things happened week by week. It seems never end.

The week before last week was one of my most fulfilling weeks ever!

On Monday, I went to work with very happy and excited mood. I try to keep myself motivated on Monday even though I hate it as much as I hate my period pain. It's very random comparison, YES! Only girls/ women can relate to that. So to my personal experience, whenever I have good Monday, my week will be good. It's actually just a psychological trick but it works :D

If you notice from my previous weekly episodes, I always start my Monday by dressing up very professionally at work. Here I wore full dress and blazer set from GUESS that I bought during my LA trip. This set was picked by my dearest Mike, he always has good taste and I love shopping with him ;)

Basic black and white with strips and prints. It never goes wrong in any occasion.

Tuesday!
High pony tail with simple floral shirt and oliver pants. I love olive, brown, beige pants because they are so classy, elegant and versatile. Literally, you can match them with any colors and they work so well together. If you have never tried any nude, beige color outfit, I suggest you can give a try.

Olive pants: Rebecca Minkoff

Wednesday!
I was wearing very cute print chiffon skirt which I bought long time ago but I was reluctant to wear it. Reason? I thought it look puffy on me and I didn't know what to pair with this skirt. But on Wednesday, I woke up late and I didn't have time to decide what to wear. So i quickly grabbed this skirt at my convenience and pulled a white shirt off. It turned out pretty cool, didn't it?
The only thing I need to be aware of is the wind because the skirt is too light and easy to fly up when the wind blows.

White shirt: Tommy Hilfiger

Thursday
I was wearing my own handmade pearl collar necklace with a navy casual dress. Less is more! Sometimes we don't need to wear many things to make an impression.

DIY Collar necklace: My Crystal's Closet

Friday
Corset top and smiley ring as it was Friday. T.G.I.F! Time to wrap up the whole busy week and chill out. There wasn't any work-party 2 in 1 outfit because I decided to go back and change before heading out to join my girl friends.

So this was my dress for Friday night: red lipstick, curly hair and bodycon black dress. My girl friend couldn't reckon me when I walked into the bar because that was the first time she went to a bar to catch up with me on Friday night. Obviously, that was also the first time she saw me dress up like that. Surprise!

Cleavage for you, perverts! I know you've been waiting for this.

I and my girl friends went to Le Noir, a small bar in Clarke Quay for a drink and ended up dancing like mad inside. It was super fun and impromptu because we didn't plan for this at all.

From left: Nicole, Alicia & Me.
Don't you notice our eyes make up were all the same? Because I did it! Lolz. When they saw me with makeup on, they pulled me to the washroom and asked for a simple make-over. It's girl thing, so cute!

Saturday
I spent my entire Saturday and Sunday to attend makeup workshop by Lancome and purposely to meet up my idol Michelle Phan- a Youtube beauty guru who flew all the way from United States to Singapore for Meet & Greet with her fans.

Her story to fame is so inspiring and what attracted me at first was when i knew she is also Vietnamese but born and living in US. She recorded her make-up tutorial videos in her living room in 2006 with a very simple camcorder and set up. There wasn't anything special about her makeup tutorials on Youtube as many people already did that. Only after Michelle Phan made a youtube makeup tutorial to transform herself into Lady Gaga in her song "Poke Face" which was super duper popular back then, she attracted hundred thousands views from the first week. Now? That video has had 20 millions view so far and still counting. To date, she has more than 2 millions subscribers on her Youtube channel from all over the world. Can you believe it? It's 4 times more than Singapore population.

Not just that, Lancome then invited her to be their spoke person. And that was how Michelle Phan got to fame and success right now. She has 4 different businesses to run and earns million dollars from her Youtube, Blog, etc...at the age of 25. She was born in 1987 and yes she is younger than me 3 years old, wtf!

Life has lot of amazing and surprising things and we will never know what to expect. Just keep dreaming, chase for your dream and don't ever stop. That's what I love about this little sweet girl whom I can relate so much to.

Got a photo taken with her at Sephora during her Meet & Greet!

Sunday
I was attending a Master Class Makeup workshop by Michelle and learnt quite alot of makeup tips & tricks. It was memorable and fun event.

Another photo taken with Michelle.

Photo taken during the Masterclass, courtesy of Herworld magazine Singapore. I was sitting right next to Wendy aka Xiaxue, a popular blogger from Singapore.

That was pretty much how my week went! It was super fantastic. Don't you feel bored of listening the same thing everytime? Lolz! In fact, if you follow me closely enough for the past 5 months since my first Crystal's Closet episode, I do not only have some great weeks but also  some shitty weeks. But I'm always trying my best to keep myself positive, motivated and optimistic. That spirit eventually changes the bad situation I'm in to a better one. It's hard to explain in details but I believe it's true.

I hope you guys had a great week too and stay positive always.
Love
Crystal
