STORY OF MY WISDOM TOOTH EXTRACTION

The post title might sound a little bit unglamorous,  but it's straight to the point. Today, I'm going to talk about my wisdom teeth removal experience at Implantdontics Cosmetic & Implant Dentistry.

I'm sure many of you are afraid of having your wisdom tooth removed because of the pain, gum swelling and bleeding for a couple of days or even a week.

So was I!

When I asked my friends about wisdom teeth removal, most of their reactions were "Oh my god! It's going to be painful. Scary"-  "You have to take at least 1 week medical leave"- "You won't be able to eat anything except for porridge". "Your face will get swollen."

I was so scared that it took me... one year to finally have my wisdom teeth removed regardless numerous reminders by my dentist. It's ridiculous, I know.

I tried to ease myself by thinking that my wisdom teeth haven't given me any problem for more than 20 years; there is no reason why I need to remove them. Saying "them" I meant I had to remove not one but four teeth. Can you imagine? It's like quadrupling the pain.

And you are asking me why do I need to remove four wisdom teeth? Here is the answer:

Story of my wisdom tooth extraction at Implantdontics dental clinic

I am so "fortunate" to have two stupid teeth grow diagonally inward, I don't know why they are called wisdom teeth. And for God's sake, they are big, so they left no room for the other teeth to grow. My dentist said If I didn't remove them, very much likely decay would occur. By then, things would get worse. As I had to remove two lower teeth, the two upper ones were advised to be removed as well.

I got a heart attack when I heard it from Dr.  Dennis Leong. There were many questions popped up in my head:

- OMG! I'm going to die! How could I tolerate the pain?
- How am I going to eat without my teeth?
- My teeth don't cause me any pain, why do I have to bring the pain to myself?
- Oh my God, it's going to cause me a bomb. One wisdom tooth extraction costs S$800- S$900. Four teeth will cost me S$3200 - S$3600???????

Enough dramas yet? Does it sound similar to you? But I'm going to tell you why I still decided to have my four teeth removed at the end.

I went to the Implantdontics Clinic on Friday afternoon with a very relaxing and worry-free mood.

Arriving at the clinic.

While waiting for my turn, I managed to snap some photos of the clinic interior.

Love the cozy environment. They even have FREE WIFI for you to surf in case your data network sucks.

Just in case, everyone is busy inside, press the bell to be served :D

I'm sure many dental clinics out there are offering the same services, but tell me which clinic is as conveniently reachable as Implantdontics? Whatapps, Skype, Viber, SMS, Phone call, Email. You name it; they have it! Very well -equipped with technology.

The room where I had my wisdom teeth removed. Bright and beautiful!

Another room where I had my gum treatment done. Most of the time when I was in that chair, I felt like sleeping. Too comfortable to take it.

Story of my wisdom tooth extraction at Implantdontics dental clinic

Back to the procedure, Dr. Leong asked me earlier if I wanted to stay awake or to be unconscious during the surgery. I chose to stay awake. Not because I was so brave, I tried to cut cost  *lolz*. So I was given a local anesthetic to numb the entire area where my teeth were removed.

Dr. Leong arranged his colleague- Dr. Aidan Yeo to do the surgery for me. As what I was told by Dr. Leong and the clinic staffs, Dr. Aidan Yeo is one of the most experienced doctors in wisdom tooth extraction. "You won't even feel the pain at all. He will just need  less than 3 minutes to extract your teeth". And so I trusted them.

Dr. Yeo started extracting my two upper teeth first. I laid down, closed my eyes and counted to 10 to distract myself from thinking how painful it could be. When I counted to 5, I heard Dr. Yeo said "OK! One is gone!"

I was like "Are you serious? Why so fast? I couldn't feel anything?". And that moment, I knew I was terrified by too many comments that people gave me OR their dentists did a bad job. Dr. Yeo's experience was beyond my expectation. He needed only 5 minutes to extract my two upper teeth and approximately 30- 35 minutes to take out the lower two whereas normal procedures usually take 60 minutes to complete.

Best part? I didn't feel so much pain, even when he opened up my gum tissue over the teeth, cut the teeth into small pieces, took them out one by one and sewed the gum back up. The pain was totally bearable and not scary as what people said AT ALL. For this, I need to thank to Implantdontics clinic, Dr. Leong & Dr. Yeo for making my life so much easier. Why?

1. I needed only three days medical leave instead of 6 even though Dr. Leong gave me six days medical leave. So nice of him!
2. Unbelievably enough, I could eat rice on 3rd day itself. Some have to eat porridge for 1 week, poor them.
3. After two days, the pain was gone like magic. How could it even be possible? :-O
4. Instead of having to pay S$3500- S$4800 as what other clinics charge, I only needed to pay S$2500 for everything. Isn't it awesome? You tell me "Cheap things are not good"? You are wrong! Not forget to mention you can even claim from your Medisave if you are a Singaporean or Singapore PR.

After all, if you are still wondering which dental clinic should you go to have your wisdom teeth surgery done, I would recommend you to Implantdontics Clinic.

Their clinic is located at 1 Orchard Boulevard, #10- 02, Camden Medical Centre.
They do offer other services like teeth whitening, gum treatment, root canal treatment, dental implant, etc.... My teeth are now taken care of them, and I totally love it.

Call them to fix an appointment now if your teeth have any problem. +65- 6737 7022 (during office hours) OR +65- 8394 0827 (after office hours)

Also, don't forget to check out their website www.implantdontics.com for more information about what do they offer.

If you have any question about my personal experience or clinical services, feel free to leave me some comments below. I'll try to answer as much as I could. If not, Call +65- 6737 7022 and don't forget to mention my name "Crystal Phuong" when seeing Dr. Leong.  :)

Lastly, good luck everyone with your wisdom teeth removal! It won't be painful at all IF you have it done at Implantdontics, I guarantee!

Brightened up my day with this color-blocking toga dress. The uniqueness of this dress is on its design. When I raise up my right hand, it looks like I'm wearing an upside-down L shape dress. It's pretty cool.

I went for dinner at Chinatown and this caught my attention.

Thousand of lanterns light up at night in Chinatown waiting to celebrate Mid- Autumn Festival. Have you guys ever celebrated the Mid- Autumn Festival? This reminds me so much about my childhood during the Mid-Autumn Festival. My mom would buy for me a 5 pointed star shaped lantern and I went performing lion-dance with some other kids on the street. We also went to houses asking permission to perform for them as a blessing of luck, fortune and receiving some lucky money in return. That was so much fun.

Saturday

Natural makeup for relaxing Saturday.

Watching TED at the cinema.

Outfit of the day: Casual stripped short with a flare tank top.

Sunday, I was "hibernating" at home to recharge myself. It's the only day that I allow myself to be lazy, no work, just eating, sleeping and watching a movie.

The new week started and everything got back to its cycle!

Monday
Sleek and chic with the diamond printed bodycon skirt with a super cute ruffle neck shirt.

Crystal's Closet: Weekly Wardrobe (Ep22)

Hey my loves,

How is your week going on so far? I've been terribly busy last couple of weeks: so many enquiry emails, blog advertorial, events and stuffs. I sleep earliest at 1am every night and wake up at 7.30am every morning yet I still haven't finished all things that I'm supposed to do. -_-

Anyway, here is a short recap of what happened last 2 weeks. Sorry for the delay though.

Monday, I got back Singapore late afternoon and it was raining when I landed. The weather made me feel so emotional and lazy. All I wanted to do was to sleep but I just couldn't. There is one thing that everyone hates the most after every trip is unpacking the luggage and doing your laundry. So do I! I spent entire evening clearing up my dirty cloths, resting at home and getting ready for the next morning at work.

Tuesday
It was incredibly busy yet exciting day at work. I was wearing one of my favorite outfit sets from Brooks Brother.

Get this look:
Floral button shirt: Brook Brothers. Similar: Olivia Moon
Skirt:  ModCloths US
Shoes: Barbara Bui

At night, I was invited by BrandStory to attend exclusive blogger event with FANCL- a skincare & make-up brand from Japan. It was really an amazing night. I had chauffeur service picked me up right at my doorstep.

There he was, my personal driver of the night.

Arriving at the event. First thing first, posing for the camera :) I was wearing BEBE dress which I bought last year from my LA trip. One of my favorite dresses.

The night was all about Fashion, Beauty, Nice foods and Nice people. I will blog more in details about the event later in the next entry.

Got load of products to take home to use and after using it for 2 weeks, I think I have become one of loyal fans of FANCL. Their products are so good for Asian skin.

Wednesday.
Bun-up hairstyle with rounded neck chiffon shirt and DIY collar necklace. Many people were asking where did I get the necklace from :D

Get this look:
Chiffon shirt: Forever21. Similar: Mc Alexanda McQueen
Pants: Michael Kors
Shoes: Charles & Keith. Similar: Jessica Simpson
Bag: Pachebel. Similar: Eddie Baur

Pin up hair and natural makeup for the day. Less is more!

Thursday!
I was invited to attend the Fashion Launch of a local fashion brand called ZARDOZE. They sponsored me a very beautiful gown for my Singapore Blog Award appearance 2 months ago.

Photo taken during red-carpet moment. :)

My outfit of the night. BEBE dress again. I'm a huge fan of BEBE. Did my own hair and makeup, what do you think?

Zardoze fashion show. I love all pieces in their collection, so elegant, so sexy and beautiful. Also, on Thursday, something exciting came to the mail box.
My sponsored accessories from Strings of Glamour. Don't forget to check them out, they have pretty nice stuffs and they are cheap too.

Friday
Got into the sweet and innocent look with the white lace dress and vintage accessories.

Get this look!
White dress: Forever21. Similar: Zac Posen
Shoes: Dolce Vita
Belt: Madewell

Saturday!
Spent entire day to have a photoshoot with my friend photographer for the weekend outfit post. It was tiring but it was fun. As you all know, I love the camera (and the camera loves me too), so having a photoshoot is never a job. It's a pleasure! Or indirectly, I'm saying that I'm such a big cam-whore *lolz* but who cares what people think. You just do what you love to do and enjoy doing it.

Get this look
Maxi Dress: Club Monaco (similar)
Shoes: Dolce Vita

Last but not least for today blog post, I want to introduce to you this new baby of mine. Welcome to the Crystal's fashion family, Jessica Simpson's hot heels ^_^. I got really excited when I saw Jessica Simpson's heels sold in Singapore. I'm in love with all of their designs, styles and comfort and I have been eyeing on their products for longest time ever. Couldn't believe that I could find them at Wisma Atria. Super happy to the max. The red hot chili high heels costed S$179 (on sales) but you will know it's totally worth spending when you wear them on.

Muahxxx! :D

That's all from me today. Before leaving this website, please don't forget to join my Giveaway HERE and share it with your female friends. Every woman needs and deserves to look beautiful in many ways. It's just a little extra effort to make the differences.

Aside from Crystal's Closet Weekly Wardrobe series, this is gonna be an extra blog post featuring one of my favorite outfits in detail. Also, thank to my personal photographer of the day Sara Sun who helped me to take all these beautiful photos. :)

In any girl's closet, besides all the basic pieces like white shirt, black pants, blazer...maxi dress is one of the Must- have items. It's also one of the trends that refuses to die in any season, time or occasion. You can wear it to the beach, to the party, to shopping, to the wedding or even wear it at home. And don't be afraid of "I'm too short. I can't wear maxi dress because it makes me look even shorter". I'm not tall either but I still rock Maxi dress like nobody's business and trust me there are some types of maxi dress can help you to lie about your actual height. You just need to find out what type that is :)

Walking along Emerald Hill on Saturday! We had an entire quiet and beautiful street for us to take many photos as we wished.

Accessorizing yellow necklace- sponsored by Strings of Glamour and earrings to match with yellow dots on the dress.

A quiet moment for myself.

A belt to emphasize your small waist or to minimize a big one.

Not to forget a pair of vibrant colored heels to walk out on the bright and sunny day. Alternatively, a pair of white shoes is good too.

If you do have your favorite maxi dress, don't forget to tweet me a photo or upload it on my Facebook wall. I would be so happy to see them.

Crystal's Closet: Weekly Wardrobe (Ep21)- Awesome get away trip to Vietnam!

Hi guys,

I'm back from a short get away trip to Vietnam! Does anyone here miss me? ;) You'd better!

Talk about my trip later, I want to tell you about my problem first. The past 3 days after I came back from Vietnam til now, this song somehow kept playing in my head. I listened to it when I was on my flight and I loved it. I loved its lyric to be exact. The lyric is so sweet, romantic and touching.

One In A Million
"Other girls don't matter. In your presence, can't do what you do. There is a million girls around. But I don't see no one but you"
That's one part of the lyric which caught my attention and I'm sure any girl who hears this will also "Awww! So sweet! If only my boyfriend would say this to me". That's also reason why we- girls always get fooled by the sweet but empty words. Wake up, young ladies!
I love this song but I need to find a way to get it out of my head. It's like your subconsciousness keeps telling you what to do. Do you have any favorite song that you keep listening to? Anyway, I hope that sweet song cheers you up.
Here are some quick updates from my last week outfits.

Monday
From head to toe. G2000 stripped sheer blouse from their latest fall collection and straight cut pants. It has been long time I haven't shopped at G2000 because I found their cloths are quite boring. I love fanciful and tasteful designs while theirs mainly are basic and simple. To my surprise, I had my eyes glued to their latest collection when I passed by their store last week.
They have improved tremendously in terms of material quality, color selections and styles. Last week, when I re-visited their store, I managed to grab few pieces home. This is one of them.

Get this look:
Sheer stripped blouse: G2000.
Straight cut pants: G2000. Similar: Karen Millen
Belt: Remo Tuliani (similar)

Tuesday
Another G2000 obsession and I just couldn't wait for another day to wear them regardless it was repeated look. When I wore this pairing- dark purple blue shirt with white pants and accessories to my office, most of my colleagues loved it. Perhaps, it's because of the strong contrast colors combination as well as the sophisticated yet simple style that pulled it off.

Thursday & Friday, I was super busy and rushing to finish all of my works before I called it a week and flew back Vietnam for a weekend. Even the trip was really short but that was one of the best weekends to me so far. There is nowhere else better than home.

I arrived Hanoi in the evening and it took me another 3 hours drive to my house. Exhausted but I was very excited and happy. The first thing I did when I got home was to look for my nephew and to snuggle him. He smiled when he saw me and that made my entire day.

Saturday.
We went to the beach that closes to home (about 20 minutes drive) in the afternoon. My dad, my brother went swimming and my nephew wanted to follow too. He was so happy when he got chance to play with water and he kept laughing out loud. Cuteness overload!

Outfit for the beach: Basic tank top, pleated Hi-Low skirt and Floral bikini underneath.
Sun bathing by the beach. The weather, the sun were perfect on that day for my sun tanning.

Braided hairstyle and natural makeup.

Camwhoring with my friend Carmen who followed me back home. We both forgot to bring our bikinis and managed to grab new ones at the airport for only S$18.90. Did I say they are branded bikinis? I did.

I also took this chance to snap lots of photos with my cutest little human being. He wasn't willing to do so because he wanted to swim again and I forced him to take photos with me, lolz.

Smile

Look at that chubby cheeks!

I want to kiss that cheeks everyday.

I think he got annoyed because the aunty was trying to harass him. :D

and he tried to push my face away.

Finally! A good shot of us after many attempts.

The trip wouldn't be complete without having fresh seafoods for dinner by the beach.

Super fresh and yummy steamed prawn.

Flower crabs.

And my all time favorite food: Cockles.

What a life! If only I could do this everyday.

On Sunday, my best friend came to pick me up for manicure at her favorite nails salon. It's a Must that every time I go back Vietnam, I have to get my nails done. Their skills, speed, quality are by far the best. Not to mention, it's dirt cheap please!!!!

Where to find this set of nails with full extension, gelish and crystals for only S$50 in Singapore? It usually costs me S$100+ or more.

That was it! My short getaway trip back home. Less is more! It was short but it was all I needed to de-stress myself, relax and recharge physically, emotionally and mentally.

Managed to get 1 bowl of beef noodle (Pho) on the way to the airport.

I used to not appreciate this dish so much because it's too common in Vietnam and I'm a rice- eater, I don't like noodle that much. Only after I live abroad for almost 10 years, there is one thing I always miss the most is "Pho". If you travel to Hanoi, this is the first thing you have to do before anything else: eat a bowl of Pho. No matter how many Vietnamese restaurants here in Singapore are trying to make one, the taste isn't just the same. That's why we just have to keep going there for a bowl of Pho :)

Anyway, enough with the foods topic. My stomach starts making noise now and I need my beauty sleep. It's freaking 3am! Why the time flies so fast?

Another new week is coming and new month is here. I hope you guys will have a great start and will achieve your goals. For myself, I'm gonna have a super busy weeks ahead but I'll try to talk to you again soon in the next entry.

Before I end this blog post, let me share with you something beautiful. Watch the video!

I told you! This song is haunting me! I hope I won't dream about it tonight.

Bye!
Crystal
