NYFW 2015: DAY 5 IN PANTSUIT FOR CONCEPT KOREA

Crystal Phuong- New York Fashion Week Day 5 Streetstyle

My day 5 of #NYFW started with the Concept Korea's fashion show, followed by a couple of photo shoots around Times Square. I changed 3 outfits during the day, ran back and forth between Skylight Moynihan Station (the show's venue), my hotel, and Times Square. It was tiring, but it was so fun, especially when I had a chance to do a photoshoot with my blogger friends. That's what fashion week is all about. Like many people, I was trying to squeeze as many things in as I could during that time, so much, that my jetlag didn't have a chance to kick in.

The night before, I fell asleep at 4 am, woke up at 8 am, and I felt great. No coffee needed. I think I mentioned it before in this blog post. But, the truth is, I'm still amazed at how much energy New York city gave me. It definitely was (and will be) the most energetic city that I've traveled to.

After having breakfast in the hotel, I was off to the first show of the day. I was wearing this floral pantsuit which I bought a few months ago from ASOS. I love how the soft material of the suit flows nicely on my body, creating such an easy chic vibe. The kimono jacket added a glam factor to my whole look especially when the wind blew. It was the most photo-worthy moment for street style photographers.

NYFW 2015: DAY 4 IN MAXI AND DENIM

Crystal Phuong- New York Fashion Week 2015- Day 4 in Lie SangBong

New York Fashion Week on day 4 came in full swing for me. I run to a few shows back to back, attended a couple of meetings, and still managed to finish few photo shoots as fast as I could.

Now that the fashion week is already over, I'm so excited to share with you in details what I did during fashion week. It was so overwhelming and amazing. Although, fashion week is quite exhausting, I actually enjoy every bit of it. If I have to do it all over again, I would. I can't turn back time, but perhaps, looking back at these photos from day 4 of New York Fashion Week helps to bring back those sweet memories.

Thanks SocietyA for dressing me in this gorgeous color-block maxi skirt from Lie collection. I wore it to attend Lie SangBong's fashion show and felt so special to be dressed in one of his designs. It felt as if it was just yesterday!

On a side topic, please meet my dear friend Hallie from Halliedaily. She is a popular fashion blogger in LA and also a Vanity Best Dressed Winner in 2013. Her style is always so sophisticated, classic, elegant, and timeless and her wardrobe is amazing. This was one of the spontaneous photo shoots we did after the Rewardstyle party. We didn't really discuss what we were wearing for the photo shoot, but somehow our outfits complimentarily coordinated so well together. This chemistry is rare!

NYFW 2015: DAY 3 WITH SOCIETYA

CrystalPhuong- New York Fashion Week 2015- Day 3 Streetstyle

Greetings from New York everyone!
It's only my fourth day in this dream city, but I already have so many great stories that I want to share with you. The crazy amount of activities that I do every day, during fashion week, makes me feel like I've been here for two weeks already. Show after show, party after party, and photoshoot after photoshoot. I have only 4 to 5 hours sleep every night. I think I lost 1kg within these 4 days. Apart from my dying feet that are being tortured in heels every day, I feel fantastic. Perhaps, the excitement, energy, opportunity, and satisfaction that New York brings, makes all the senses in my body run at their maximum capacity, without me realising it. When your dream becomes true, you won't want to go back to sleep. That's what my body is going through right now.

New York Fashion Week is nothing without the killer outfits. I brought a little tropical paradise from Singapore to the Spring/ Summer fashion week in New York. You have seen it on my Instagram, but here are more up close photos of my decal long sleeve top and skorts from Tibaeg's Spring/ Summer 2015 collection. They are so comfortable and stylish. They make me look chic without trying too hard and those statement prints are to die for.

Thank you so much SocietyA for partnering on this blog post!

BOYFRIEND JEANS ON REPEAT

CrystalPhuong- Singapore Fashion Blog- Casual weekend in boyfriend jeans

Greetings from Dubai, everyone!

I just landed in Dubai an hour ago and the first thing I did was to look for a Wifi Spot and to feel connected to the world again. Thanks to Emirates for the sweet treat while I'm in Dubai airport. They made my 4-hour transit become much more enjoyable. I have to say Emirates airline is still by far my favorite. Spacious legs room, delicious food, On air WiFi, great movie selections, and a lot more.

Not long after we took off, cabin crew came to serve us dinner. I had a few bites as I wasn't hungry. After dinner, I washed my face, put on a hydrating mask (yes, those white masks), and fell asleep right away. By the time I woke up, we landed. A 7-hour flight felt like the 1-hour one. While waiting for my next flight at a cool cafe spot, I'm trying to utilize my 1-hour free WiFi to give you as many updates as I can. If you want to know where I'm heading to, please follow me on Instagram or Facebook

On a different note, loose tops and boyfriend jeans are my things nowadays when it comes to weekend dress-up. My hair doesn't look like this anymore and I won't be dressing so casual next week. But before the fashion madness begins, here is a cool and relaxing outfit which I think it's so appropriate to share it with you on Friday.

Happy weekend loves. See you on the other side of the world!

THE GOLDEN HOUR

Crystal Phuong- Singapore Fashion Blog- The golden hour

Although many people know me as a strong, determined and no-nonsense type of girl, very few actually know I'm quite a soft- hearted and an emotional person from the inside. I got upset easily and took a long term to get over it in the past. I never like yelling at people or getting involved in any conflicts or dramas. I used to be bullied in high school, at work and cheated in life. Living alone in a foreign country for many years has taught me to be independent and strong to survive. I would hide my weakness and insecurity away from people and try to act that I was fine. I would never cry in front of people no matter how much I hurt. Living a life that way made me so tired and feel like giving up many times.

Years later, I learned that feeling insecure and weak is fine, and I don't have to hide my emotions. The moment I started to let go, I began to enjoy my life, every bit of it. I have freedom to express myself, to do what I love, and to be the woman I want to be. I can be a business woman at day, a rock chic at night, and a preppy school girl once a while. But I'm pretty sure, a sweet looking girl like this, in a chiffon midi skirt, off-shoulder lace top with a floral crown on my head, is something that you have never seen before. You might find this off-shoulder lace dress that I wore as a top familiar from this blog post, but that's about all.

What was the inspiration behind this fragile and dreamy outfit? I actually don't know. Perhaps the golden hour when the sun was about to set has evoked the femininity in me. I just wanted to show you the soft and emotional side of me. You happen to be one of the few lucky people who have seen it.

What are your thoughts?
