LOST IN WONDERLAND

Can you tell that I'm a little bit overly obsessed with a one-piece garment by now? When it comes to packing light for a short getaway trip, rompers are one the few items that will always get into my must-bring list. First, they are statement pieces by themselves. Second, they save me from spending hours in front of my wardrobe trying to find what matches. Third, they are light to pack. Fourth, they are chic, cool and holiday-ready. I purposely packed 3 rompers to Bali with me but only managed to wear 2 of them as the holiday was too short (always). You can see the first one here.

On the last day in Bali, I decided to spend time exploring the other part of the hotel where we stayed. It's where all the secluded villas tucked into a beautiful garden and surrounded by many tall-tree walls. There were many small roads that led us to different doors, artistically painted and portrayed rich Indonesian culture. I had a hard time to decide a perfect spot for my outfit photo background as every corner in The Royal Beach Seminyak was picture-worthy. While I was trying to navigate my way in this wonderland, so that I didn't get lost, my dearest photographer tried to keep his camera focused on my outfit, which looked almost exactly as the colorful background.

LET IT FLOW

Seminyak Beach in Bali

I took (almost) the entire last week off from the digital world to spend some quality time with my Mom and Dad. They were in Singapore for their company's Global Rally event that was organized in Marina Bay Sands. If you followed me and noticed, I only posted four photos on my Instagram and one blog entry. It was the most precious family time for me to have my parents around. I tried to take advantage of every minute that I could. I'm still feeling a bit emotional from sending my parents off to the airport today. Time flew by so fast when we were having fun. I miss them so much already and it was only just a couple of hours since they left. Luckily, these photos brought me back to Bali and that made me feel slightly better. I was supposed to publish them last week, but I didn't have time to do. So here we go!

Seminyak beach is so beautiful that it can make your heart skip a beat. The 3km white-sand beach from Tuban Area has become a fascination for many of us. Big waves, strong winds, and beautiful panoramic views, I can't help but fall in love with this place, over and over again. Whenever I'm hitting the beach, I will always bring a maxi dress with me no matter what. I bought this white maxi in Vietnam in 2009. It is made of 100% real silk and it feels incredible on my skin. You would not believe that this was only the second time I wore it. The first time was for my photo shoot a couple of years ago. Because this dress is so special and unique, I thought the beach is the most appropriate place to wear it. Seminyak beach offered me much more than I expected. I guess, I wasn't wrong when I packed it with me to Bali.

ROMPING IN A ROMPER

I've had this Three Floor romper for half a year, but only managed to wear it during my trip to Bali for the first time. It is the coolest, prettiest and most daring romper I've owned so far.

Besides the loud floral print, I was particularly interested in the single spaghetti strap that brings a cool asymmetrical design and the back and front drapes that give a peek-a-boo effect. To be honest, I was quite cautious when wearing this beautiful piece as I was worried that the fragile string could break any moment. Thankfully, Three Floor is well-known for designing clothes like this. They seem to have taken care of our concerns before they even existed so it's no accident and no wardrobe malfunction happened that day.

I spent my second day in Bali exploring our beautiful hotel and exploring Seminyak street. Legian street in Seminyak was busy as usual. It was so nice to be back to this place after three years. I guess by looking at my vibrant, free, and lively outfit, you can tell exactly how I felt when I was taking these photos.

UNFORGETTABLE BALI

In my previous blog post, I mentioned that I did some crazy activities that I thought I would never do in my life when I was in Bali. These activities made my Bali adventure to be one of the most memorable trips I've ever had. If my boyfriend hadn't mentioned, I would not have realized my travel routine typically involved only shopping, dining, and sightseeing. I had missed so many fun things I could have done when I traveled like mountain climbing, snorkeling, kayaking, etc... He encouraged me to do something different this time, so I did.

Being the greedy person I am when It comes to achieving my goals, I wanted to cross as many items off my bucket list as I could. All at once, if it's possible. On the third day in Bali, we decided to do water activities that included snorkeling, aquanauts, surfing, and parasailing.
We sailed away from Bali to Nusa Lembongan Island with the Bali Hai Cruise team on Aristocat- Bali Hai Cruises' Luxury Sailing Catamaran.  It was almost an hour sailing on the ocean to the pristine Lembongan Bay.

The long boat ride made me nervous and impatient. But when I saw what greeted us at the destination, the uneasy, restless feeling I had earlier, completely went away. There was only an overwhelming excitement left, I couldn't wait to see what Bali had to offer.

Can you imagine yourself living in a place like this? I can.

Listening to the waves crash into the rocks was the most therapeutic thing ever.

The water was so clear that I could even see my toes down there.

As I only had a few hours at the bay, with so many activities I wanted to do, I didn't want to waste any minutes. We first started with a submarine tour to admire the beauty underwater. It was my first-time watching coral reefs up close; it's so surreal.

Then, I went parasailing. I was so eager and so scared at the same time. But learning from my first New York trip experience, I shouldn't let fear stop me from doing what I want. I closed my eyes, counted to 10, and before I opened my eyes, I was already up there.

360 degree of Bali in a bird's eye view. I was flying and I was screaming. I wish I could bring a camera to capture all these precious moments, but I wasn't allowed to do so.

It was only 20 minutes flying without wings, but that was the best 20 minutes I've ever had. Words can't describe how I felt. It was a mixture of worriness, fulfillment, happiness, and wildness.

One activity after another. We took a small boat and went for aquanauts. Again, I was nervous when listening to the safety instruction from our tour guide, but when I immersed into a marine world, no more fear existed. It was amazing to be surrounded by many tropical fishes while watching vibrant coral reefs and walking in the ocean. I went from flying up in the sky to walking in the ocean within an hour, just like that.

After Aquanauts, we dediced to cancel snorkeling because we already saw everything we wanted, even ten times better. If you are looking for some fun activities in Bali, I highly recommend that you put aquanauts on your list. You won't regret it, I guarantee!

If the tour guide didn't remind me of time, I could do it all day long. I'm the type of person when I want to do something; I'll go all the way. It includes having fun. That's why my boyfriend didn't seem to be surprised when he heard me saying "I want to go surfing". Five minutes later, I hired an instructor and hit the beach. It was my very first time surfing. I fell quite a number of times and repeated the process approximately 100 times. It was unfortunate that my instructor could only speak a little English, like "OK", "Again" and "Up" (lolz). I learned it all by myself, through many times of falling. I figured that surfing is somehow similar to dancing. It's all about closed knees, relaxed shoulders, centered bodyweight, and stable balancing. Twenty minutes later, I started to know what surfing feels like.

It was extremely fun!

The last day in Bali, I came back to my feminine self and spent time by the beach watching the sunset. Seminyak was breathtaking at dusk with a cotton candy sky, the sound of waves crashing, and the feeling of strong winds from the ocean. Even the toughest heart will melt at places like this.

I'm still trying to recover from a post-holiday syndrome. As much as I want to get all the work done, it's impossible to look at these photos and not want to come back again very soon.

Thank you so much for reading! If you are going to travel to Bali, I hope you will have a wonderful holiday like I did.
