POWER OVER CERVICAL CANCER

POWER OVER CERVICAL CANCER

I'm gonna attend the biggest pink party ever in Singapore on this 24 July in Zouk organized by Power Over Cervical Cancer and I'm pretty excited and looking forward to it!

Reason for attending? Well, I must confess that the only reason attracts me at first to attend this party is the pink theme. Everyone knows me in real or from my blog know i love pink. Seriously! How good to be surrounded with all the pink stuffs! Am thrilled! ^_^

The party will start from 8.30pm to 10.30pm with so many happening things: fashion show, Magic Show, Pole-dancing performances, freebies, etc...Omg! *Faint*

So, any girl who is free on this Saturday MUST join this party!

Photobucket

There are only limited tickets up for grab so be hurry to secure your entry :) I wish to see all you girls there in pink and we'll do a massive pink camwhore session, lolz....

Those girls/ aunties/ wives/ mommies who are busy with other things on that date, who don't really like pink that much, who don't even care or have time to care much about your own body, you MUST attend this event too!

There is another reason which makes me feel more eager to attend this party is not only because of the pink stuffs but also a lesson about the thing called "Cervical Cancer"

"What the hell is that?" I talked to myself when i first glanced at the party flyer. And then, i had little time to read through the website about cervical cancer. I was stunned!

It's like almost 200 new cases diagnosed every year in Singapore. So means, you or I can get infected Cervical Cancer anytime, anywhere regardless of age, blood type, lifestyle, genre or anything. Cervical Cancer can happen to anyone and it can kill!!!!!! Good God, so what the hell is Cervical Cancer?

Here you go!

* What is Cervical Cancer?

Cervical cancer is a disease that affects the cervix in the female reproductive system. The cervix is about 2 inches length is the lower portion of the uterus that connects the upper vagina to the uterus. During childbirth, the cervix dilates, allowing the baby to travel from the uterus to the vagina.

Cervical cancer begins in cells on the surface of the cervix. Over time, the cervical cancer can invade more deeply into the cervix and nearby tissues. The cancer cells can spread by breaking away from the original (primary) tumor. They enter blood vessels or lymph vessels, which branch into all the tissues of the body. The cancer cells may attach to other tissues and grow to form new tumors that may damage those tissues. The spread of cancer is called metastasis.

Cut it short, see the photo:

and here how the cervical cancer looks at different stages.

 Mad gross!

Ever wonder why we women have this kind of cancer while men don't? Because men dont have vagina, as simple as that. But look, here are some serious factors and causes of cervical cancer that you to seriously think about:

1. HPV (Human Papillomavirus) a group of viruses that can infect the cervix. These viruses are passed from person to person through sexual contact. Most adults have been infected with HPV at some time in their lives. So tell me if you would never have sex in your life? Not possible!

2. Lack of regular Pap tests: Cervical cancer is more common among women who don't have regular Pap tests. The Pap test helps doctors find abnormal cells.

3. Smoking: Among women who are infected with HPV, smoking cigarettes slightly increases the risk of cervical cancer.

4. Weakened immune system (the body's natural defense system): Infection with HIV (the virus that causes AIDS) or taking drugs that suppress the immune system increases the risk of cervical cancer.

5. Sexual history. Women who have had many sexual partners OR a woman who has had sex with a man who has had many sexual partners may be at higher risk of developing cervical cancer. So what you need to do? Say "Condom"! :D

6. Using birth control pills for a long time: Using birth control pills for a long time (5 or more years) may slightly increase the risk of cervical cancer among women with HPV infection. However, the risk decreases quickly when women stop using birth control pills.

7. Having many children: Studies suggest that giving birth to many children (5 or more) may slightly increase the risk of cervical cancer among women with HPV infection.

So many factors -_- So how a person knows whether she is infected by Cervical Cancer? Simple!

There are few early stage symptoms of Cervical Cancer for you to discover:
* abnormal vaginal bleeding, including post-coital bleeding
* pain during sexual intercourse, however this can be common and unrelated to cervical cancer
* pelvic pain
* heavy vaginal discharge

I you ever have such symptoms, do consult the doctor near you for advice. For now, i think the best way is to visit Power Over Cervical Cancer to find out more infos. You can either read the information in the website or give them a call for any advice.

PROFESSIONAL SHOWDANCE CHAMPION.

PROFESSIONAL SHOWDANCE CHAMPION.

Some of you who have been following me on Twitter, Facebook, most probably know what's happened at last weekend. The biggest achievement I've had in my 9 years dancing career. No Joke! I and my dance partner won.
PROFESSIONAL SHOW-DANCE CHAMPION!!!!

in 11th Stardust Dancesport Championship on 27th June. Presenting to you the big and beautiful trophy.

Happy, excited, crazy...Of course! But above all, I must say it's a SATISFACTION! It's a reward of so many nights (almost 5 days/ week) of practice for 2 to 3 hours each day.

It's a REWARD for all the blisters on my feet, the bruises on my legs, the pain on the body till the next day I couldn't walk properly.

The big COMPLIMENT for the patience that I spent every night on making the dance costume on my own for that competition.

I think among the hundred competitors, I might be the only one who self-made dance costume. Most of the costumes are made by professionals which cost more than a thousand dollars each.

From this normal teddy or monokini whatever you call it, I cut it off into a few pieces.

The original one wasn't like it :D

adding some shiny fringes i bought in Malaysia time ago......

Every night, I spent at least 2 hours after my dance practice to make this. The final result is this

No one helped me to take the photos :( so I came out with the idea of #selfie i front of the mirror. The photos aren't that bad, are they?

My dress turned out to be quite...sexy! :D

My competition was on Sunday and only Sunday morning, I completed the whole dress with the hand-made accessories come together i.e bangles, earrings (in exact same color) and

Nails

Bling bling bling! ^_^

Close up!

Ok, I know those manicurists can curse me or hate me more now because I did my nails myself too. Sorry for taking up your business, it's just I didn't have time for you. Anyway, it isn't perfect if I don't want to say it's lousy nail arts, but I did it on my own, hello! What you expect?

I have not mentioned about my shoes yet :p
Here they are!!!!

So brand new look plus the shiny crystal * I lost count of how many crystal i've used* I super love it

Now you all know why I was named Crystal.
Before ending this blog entry, here are some of Dancing in Action photos that you might be interested in looking!

My super strong dance partner!

Hue (part3)- The best place for photography.

There are so many beautiful places in Hue for photo opportunities.
There are many old palaces in Hue, the places where all the King and Queen lived in the old days. I felt like watching those old China movies when I stepped in those places.

Posing next to Perfume river!

Super nice and windy that day! It was about to rain actually and the sky turned dark very quickly just in next few minutes!
Like this!

Posing for one of the biggest Palace in Hue *sorry, forgot its name*

Vietnam- Hue Festival (part2)

Vietnam- Hue Festival (part2)

So, after we settled down everything in the hotel, took a nice shower, enjoyed nice cold drink in hot sunny day, when the night came,

It's time for FOOD!!!!!!!!!!!
(I shall bombard you all with lot of  foods from day 1 to day4, whoever is hungry, just scroll the page down as fast as u can to skip this).

First meal with Curtis King band! Nothing special compares to Singapore food!

Reserved!!!

Food menu! It's clear enough to read!

The hungry monsters in the band
(Anti-clockwise: Eric, Fumi, Duc, Thanh)

Grilled mackerel with lemon sauce and butter!
Disliked coz it's too dry to eat and that was our first meal (dinner) after a long journey. Most probably, either we were so tired or the foods were suck. But thank God, next day breakfast was much better.

I'm having my meal at the place which was meant to be for a Queen in the old dynasty. :D

Talking about Vietnam is talking about "Beef noodle". So yum~

Fried mantou or fried pau, by far it's the best pau i ever ate.

Fresh lychees!

Passiflora incarnata fruit which is told that it's good for digestion.
Example: Your shitting frequency is 2 times in 5 days. After eating passiflora incarnata fruit (wtf, mad long name), you gonna shit 5 times in 2 days. Try it!

Ok stop the disgusting topic here! Watch out your saliva as I'm gonna throw you some super duper yummy foods. *Jieng jieng jieng*

Crab meat soup with mushroom. It's the real crab meat one with some pepper eating while it's raining and cold outside. I could eat 2 bowls of this.

Grilled beef in wild betel leaf or Wikipedia calls "Lolot" ! Woahhhh

Grilled King-prawn, I love you!!!!!!

Sour fish soup! *swallow my saliva and tongue licks over the lips*

HUGE steamed clams with chili sauce. It's seriously big. One clam is as big as my palm, am not kidding and it's so juicy, omg! I wanted to faint coz of over-satisfaction.

Steamed eggy-crab! Tell me about it, small crab but mad heavy with full of eggs inside.

We were having this yummlicious (yummy + delicious) meal on the seaside in the afternoon. It was indeed so hot and sunny but surprisingly, the sea-wind could blew all the heat away so that we could enjoy our lunch to the max. :D

When the night came, it's time for Drinking and party and Music Festival show.

Hue-indeed is super quiet city in middle of Vietnam. You hardly see any happening night activity in Hue after 10pm. Every family closes the door, turns off the light either watching TV or sleeping inside. However, during Hue Music Festival, it wasn't that bad.

With the band! From left: Curtis King, Duc, me, Jake the snake.

The band leader: Curtis King and me.

Jake the Snake and me. Believe it or not, this 70 years old plus man could sing much more powerful and better than all the youngster hiphop, rap singers nowadays. Love him!

on the stage!
The band, not me.

Second night! with awesome Drummer from Japan at the back.

here she is!  She got me so amazed to see her on stage. Such an amazing and talented drummer i've ever met. She is so cute too!

Celebrating after the show at the most happening bar in Hue (according to the rumors)

Hue at 2am! People were still sitting along the road to chill and chat.  It was just 5mins walk-away from my hotel.

It was so so only, drinking and chilling in Hue. You'll get bored if you stay there for 1 week because there aren't much places for you to go. You will most probably end up drinking at the same old place every night.

I was enjoying for my first 2 days with the band and the shows. After that, I was totally attracted by other activity which was:

Woohoooo!!!!

I put my first step into gambling world!

Casino in the hotel! Mini-casino perhaps! :D

My most favorite game coz it gave me so much money :D

Dont know how to play this! Pretending only!

I only played the game above. First time ever i tried! Won USD$535 in total!

Looking so calmly while seeing the girl counting money i've won (in Vietnam Dong). In fact, I wanted to jump, Hahaahhaa

Now it's time to show off!!!!!

Wallet became so thick, lolz! So basically, my Hue trip is totally FREE!!!!! How awesome is that???

And now you believe why I fore-told at the previous post that I had the most happening and fun trip ever so far. Not just ended up here, I'm coming back for the part 3 with loads of fun things to seeeee!!!!!

*Just done all photoshopping today, total 1GB of photos for this trip itself. Let's you all digest this bloody long entry first, i'm updating another very soon!

Now, time to dress up for party tonight! ^_^ Wahhh! So busy!
