{TRAVEL}: FIRST TIME IN LOS ANGELES

{TRAVEL}: FIRST TIME IN LOS ANGELES

It's always my dream to visit Los Angeles. I couldn't believe that finally, I made it here.

WELCOME TO LOS ANGELES!

*Photo from Scott Stullberg Photography. Such an amazing picture!

Got into our hotel- Sofitel hotel which is located in Beverly Hills. I was super excited about thinking of "OMG! I'm staying in celebrities residency area"- I know it's kinda lame but so what?  Look at the cozy hotel room

and a beautiful bathroom with a transparent glass which allows you to see through the bedroom.

Beautiful view from our hotel room to the Hollywood.

Here it is, I'm not lying.
We landed in LA around 12.30pm local time, the weather was super gorgeous, a little dry but sunny and cool. Temperature was around 16- 17 degree Celcius, it's perfect for a day out. We quickly settled our stuffs and went out for lunch and shopping :D

Guess where I was standing at????

It's Hollywood Boulevard. So crowded and fun!

Taking photo with Kenny G star. I love his music! There are many other stars along the road but all look the same so no need to show more photos of it.

The Hollywood & Highland center- a small shopping center from outside!

and how it looks from inside. Beautiful lighting deco during Christmas!

In front of Hollywood Guinness- World of Records Center.

There are tons of activities and fun things going on at Hollywood Boulevard but I'm gonna just come back to it later. It was the first night there and I was literally tired after a flight, thus I didn't stay very long there. I got back hotel at 9.30pm, took a rest to prepare for full day activities the day after.

Morning: second day in LA, we took a cab to Santa Monica Pier. It's a  is a large double-jointed pier located at the foot of Colorado Avenue in Santa Monica, California and is a prominent, 100-years-old landmark. There is no word besides breathtaking. I love this beach so much.

Ok! This is just a random photo but the beach is here.

I told you, it's beautiful! The sand is so fine, the water is so blue and the wave is so calm.

Pacific Park!

Some street musical performances. It's so fun to watch him and the kid playing drum.

Look at the awesome ocean behind me.

 Playland Arcade! So colorful

The shore view from the ocean.

Took a random shot looking at the beach from the street.

Afternoon: We took a cab to the most expensive shopping paradise at Rodeo Drive- Beverly Hills. It's a high class shopping street that you can find any brand, every brand here from Versace, Gucci, Prada to Guess etc...

At the start of the street.

Louis Vuitton is here.

Hey! It's my family fashion brand here. :D. Just kidding but honestly, I was so happy to see somebody whose surname is same as mine is a famous fashion designer. How proud!

Catch this baby along the street! Bugatti Veyron- the second most expensive and famous racing car today with a base price tag of $1,700,000 and its speed is about above 400km/h.

Beautiful deco along the street with many crystal blinking everywhere. You can't see it in the photo but in real life it is.

Salvatore Ferragamo!

Just random shoot at the street. It's clean, nice and bright street. There were many people around but it wasn't chaos at all.

Love this Christmas decoration. I guess, I visited Rodeo Dr. at the best timing of the year.

Having my late lunch (2.30pm) at Pacific Seafood Grill. Very yummy foods they made there.

Dine

and wine. Valentine came early for us. <3

After Rodeo Drive, we headed down to Hollywood Boulevard again for some souvenirs shopping as this was the last day we were in LA.

You might be wondering why my outfit was changed here. I got it from Forever21 for 2 minutes when I first got there. The true reason was funny! While I was so enjoying my seafood spaghetti, unfortunately the spaghetti sauce splashed to my face, neck and outfit when I tried to bite the prawn. I had to buy new top to change later on. I also managed to buy some souvenirs for family. And last thing we did at Hollywood boulevard was visiting Madam Tussauds Museum.

I went to  Madam Tussauds Museum once when I was in HongKong and it was pretty fun. This time I wanted to see how it would be in Hollywood. I expected it would be very much bigger, more interesting and exciting and it wasn't. I think the one in HongKong is still better. Slightly different from the arrangement. In HongKong, all the figures are arranged according to themes: Historical, Music Icons, National Heroes, etc...In Hollywood, they are arranged according to the movies. Something like this:

I don't know what movie they were. Must be horror one.

And some scary faces displayed along the entrance

Twilight prince & princess: Kristen Steward & Robert Pattinson

"Shanghai Noon" stars. I know, the guy at the left doesn't look like Jackie Chan at all. This movie is funny, have you watched?

Jennifer Garner

That's all about the museum and sightseeing journey. We went for dinner, went back to hotel and got ready for an evening shopping after that.

A beautiful photo of the Hard Rock Cafe in Hollywood.

"What else do you want to do now, sweetheart?", the boyfriend asked. I replied "Shopping" and here are what I got from the shopping haul.

Wanna know what's inside? Wait for my next blog entry, I'll reveal what I bought ;)

FROM ARIZONA TO LOS ANGELES (PART 1)

FROM ARIZONA TO LOS ANGELES (PART 1)

First of all!
HAPPY NEW YEAR 2012 EVERYONE!

Hopefully, this year will bring a lot of luck, happiness and success to everyone especially to all my blog readers. Thank you for reading and supporting my blog, I don't know all of you personally but thank you .

So now, I'm finally home after 26hr flight!

I was traveling alone for 26 hours from Japan to Los Angeles to Phoenix and Tucson (final destination) as the boyfriend had gone back a week before my trip. I was so excited yet so lazy and reluctant whenever I have to go on a long flight. Many other dramas I could ever think of: "What am I going to do to kill 26hrs"- "My legs, knees are going to be numb". But when the date drew closer, I just closed my mind to not to think of that and did it. And i did!

After 7 hours, I reached Narita International Airport in Japan!

Konnichiwa, Japan!

Pretty clean airport! A small duty-free store for transit passengers to shop while waiting.

I only had 25 minutes there, thus I didn't have time to shop for anything in the airport. On the way back Singapore, I did though! Bought a bottle of Japanese traditional whisky for my dad.

After Japan, it took me another approximately 16hours to fly across the Pacific Ocean. Landed in Los Angeles at 12.30pm local time, took another flight to Phoenix, waited for 4 more hours and boarded another flight to Tucson (Arizona). I arrived Tucson (the boyfriend's hometown) around 9pm local time and that I finally completed my traveling mission. I felt alive again the moment I saw him at the exit and I could never forget my feeling of how much I wish I had my bed to sleep on the airplane. It's like the most precious thing to me that time. Anyway, forget about the pain, it's time for pleasure.

The next morning when I woke up, everyone was preparing for the breakfast. I was a bit nervous as it was the first time I met his family but the nervousness didn't last long. Everyone was so friendly that made me feel like home.

Christmas decoration in the house

One of the many Christmas toys in the house. They look so cute and happy everywhere

Just a random shot of the lights that I found it very attractive :D

Handmade cookies that his mom did.

After cookies time, it's playing time. We went to play some games even though it was freezing outside at 0 degree Celsius. I couldn't stand, only managed to snap some photos and went inside.

Next day, I went for a drive to explore Arizona. It's a peaceful, big and quiet town in Arizona. People seem to enjoy their life here, no stress, no worry, not like in Singapore.

Spectacular mountain!

Took an artistic shoot through the mirror!

Hello! Another selfie shot.
The weather was just so perfect, sunny, bright and shiny. It's so dry that my nose, skin and lips were all dry out. Hate this.

Just a random tree in front of the house that I found so beautiful.

Evening! It's Christmas Eve!!!

The kids got so excited to open the presents from everyone in the house, especially from Santa Claus.

Look at the amount of gifts we had in the house!

I used to think Christmas is the time you will exchange the Christmas gifts with friends, family or whom you care about. You go to church, and you go out with friends on Christmas Eve. And that's why every Christmas Eve, I just went out with friends for fun, ate and drank.
I was told in details while I was there and having a chance to celebrate the first real Christmas with full of customs made me understand more about it.

We had a nice dinner on Christmas Eve with everyone. Then, the kids opened the presents from grandparents, parents, brother and sister. they went to bed early as they were told that Santa would come at midnight to give a surprise to everyone.
It doesn't matter how old you are, Santa will still give presents to everyone.

For me? Of course,  I'm always a good girl plus last year was my first year I received presents from Santa, so he was very generous, he gave me plenty :D Look at what I got!

Victoria's Secret kimono robe in hot pink.
This kimono robe is worn by VS angels during their fashion shows in New York in 2011. I knew it because I just watched VS fashion show an hour ago; all the models wore this :p

Angel wings at the back made by shiny sequins.

Pink bathrobe. Super soft and comfortable

One of my favourite gifts: Juicy Couture pink Hoodie set

Especially with my name embroidered on it. Woohoo! I love Juicy stuffs.

Another favourite item: Coach passport cover

Super pinkie inside.

Versace handbag and perfume! in Pink too :D

Victoria's Secret pajamas

Hoodie and sweater

CK Euphoria perfume and sling bag bought to me by the boyfriend

Travel make-up set palettes as small as my palm.

And there are many other stuffs I have but it's too long to display all here. So here is the final pic of my Santa gifts

Seriously, I didn't expect that I would have so many gifts on Christmas. I felt so thankful and happy . That's what I have for Christmas, how about you guys? Did you have a good Christmas yourself? I hope you do.

Stay tuned for the next blog post when I'm going to share with you so much fun about my stay in Los Angeles. ;)

Again, Happy New Year all!
Love,
Crystal
