Crystal's Closet: Weekly Wardrobe (Ep27) and a short getaway trip.

A new blog entry after this blog post, so don't forget to check it out!

I'm finally back Singapore and not going to travel anywhere until January 2013 (most probably, I hope). It's fun to travel but it's not when you realize you have not even had time to unpack, it's time to pack again. And while I was complaining about how much I hate packing and unpacking in between trips, my luggage was lost when I landed in Hanoi. It was really like Karma, wish came true! I didn't have to unpack & pack at all even when I was home. TigerAirways is still finding my luggage (as what they have been updating me. I hope they really are making an effort to search for it) but no news yet :(.  Anyway, I'll talk more about this stupid incident in the next blog entry.

Now, it's time for fashion to take place: New episode of my Weekly Wardrobe. Pardon me, this episode was 2 weeks ago before I flew to Bali. I'm catching up!

Monday: Urban Chic & Sleek
Got my Monday heated up by all the earth colors: oranges, reds, yellows, browns and that's also how I came up with the name "Urban chic". Peplum orange skirt with matching accessories. Black shoes followed the black chiffon top. It was a way to boot your energy up on blue Monday as most people used to call.

At night, I went to have dinner with my client at this beautiful club house. The foods just tasted much better right here

Wednesday.

Crystal's Closet: Weekly Wardrobe (Ep26)

Hi guys!

I hope you've had great week and will have awesome weekend ahead.

I'm back from Bali and now I'm packing again for Vietnam trip tomorrow morning. You guys are gonna miss me, I know. *sad face*

The past 2 weeks were amazing so far. I can't wait til the end of the month to experience what's happening next. Pardon me for not being able to update my blog these few weeks as I have been extremely busy everyday. Not to worry, when I'm back, I promise to give you a full, long, satisfying blog entry with lot of beautiful photos. I have more than 500 photos need to be edited. That sounds exciting to you but trust me, they need shitload of work.

Anyway, let's back to our usual Weekly Wardrobe before I can go further.

Monday
Leather, suede, blazer...these are the must-have items in your closet. I wish Singapore could have 4 seasons so that I could rock this trend walking down the street. It's Fall season now and I'm dying to wear all my favorite blazers, legging, leather skirts, boots etc.... It was so lucky that the weather was really cool on last Monday due to the heavy rain, and It allowed me to wear my Fall outfit without looking weird.

Tuesday- Red ruby girl.

Just got sponsored this unique 2 pieces velvet dress and I couldn't wait to put it on. Besides the soft material, I also love the bows on the shoulders and wavy hem line of the cropped top. Ultra sweetness!

Red pencil dress: Dorothy Perkins (similar)
Heels:  Jessica Simpson

Close up of my hair and make up for the day.

Wednesday
Faux fur over-sized blouse over the pencil skirt with long necklace and corset belt. This is perhaps the simplest and easiest look that everyone can carry. And it's effortlessly classic and elegant. In fact, it didn't take me much time to decide what to pair with this faux fur blouse. As the blouse has thick texture by itself so something simple would be a good idea to match. There you go, plain pencil skirt.

Fur blouse: H&M
Pencil skirt: Costa Blanca (similar)
Corset belt: GUESS by Marciano (similar)
Chain necklace: Forever21 or Chan Lulu (similar) - Bangles: ASOS

Simple hair and makeup for that day plus a big kiss for you my loyal blog readers.

Thursday
Chiffon floral vintage toga dress with sock bun hairstyle. As it wasn't appropriate to wear toga dress for work and to attend formal meetings, I decided to layer it up with a butterfly chiffon cardigan and a thick belt to accentuate on the waist area. The belt can sometimes do amazing finished task.

Toga floral dress: Forever21 (similar)
Chiffon cardigan: Tomas Maier (similar) or N.Pearl Cashmere (similar)
Belt: Oasap (similar) - Heels: Jessica Simpson.  Jessica Simpson

Closet up shoot of my natural make up look for the sunny day. It was so hot and sunny that caused me a headache. However, to my surprise, the make up didn't melt and I could still capture a flawless glowing skin after a long working day. Here is my tip: always apply face primer before foundation and don't forget to keep a bottle of mineral facial mist spray with you whenever you are out, under hot sun.

Close up of the lips, what do you think ? People say your lips will briefly tell about your characters, is it true? What do your lips say about you?

At night, I was invited to attend the official launch of "Lab Series", a skin care brand for men. It was really fun night as I had chance to meet up with many people, some old friends and some new ones.

Was given some of these products to bring home but I can't use them coz it's for men only :(

Bumped into Angelique Teo at this event too. Our first meet up was at Marc Anthony event when she was a host.

From left: Linda Black, me & Angelique Teo. Lovely ladies from HBO Channel.

Friday
Cowgirl look for Friday. I usually dress up sexier for Friday as I know I always by chance or by choice head down for party after work on Friday night. This week, the rule was broken. I wanted to be super casual and fun with jeans, chiffon shirt and hat. It made me feel like a cowgirl.

Get this look
Chiffon stripped shirt: G2000
Jeans: Hudson Jeans (similar)
Shoes: GUESS (Similar)
Belt: GUCCI

In fact, this look was inspired by G2000 advertisement that I saw at the shop and I just had to re-create it. Who wore it better? ;)

Saturday.
Glitter gold eyes and T-shirt for shopping and brunch with friends.

Sunday
I allowed myself to get up at 11am and got ready for the photoshoot in the afternoon. It has been a year I have not done any photoshoot and now I have an itch to do it occasionally.

Completed this drama eyes make up look in an hour. I think my make-up skill has gone up to a next level, don't you think?
After make-up, finding what type of shoes should I wear was really a big problem.

I don't know which one to choose, they all are so gorgeous. In the end, I chose the top 2.

So you want to know how did the photos turn out?

Your wish is granted!!!!

WEEKLY WARDROBE EP 25 AND I PASSED MY DRIVING TEST

WEEKLY WARDROBE EP 25 AND I PASSED MY DRIVING TEST

Happy October! I hope this is gonna be an awesome month for all of us.

My September wasn't as good as what I expected but at least I've achieved some major goals I set earlier. I'm going to share with you what are they in this blog entry. My third week of September in photos.

Monday
Sheer orange blouse and beige color pants are one of my favorite color combos. They always compliment each other so well. This is also one of the typical modern, chic styles that is suitable for any girl.

Accessorizing is a key for this type of plain, neutral outfit.

Beige pants: Michael Kors (skinny pants) or Valentino (wide legs)
Red chiffon blouse: Dorothy Perkins
Belt: B-Low the belt - Shoes: JustFab
Ring: Z Designs (similar) - Crystal bangle: Fragments (similar)

Tuesday
Green bow over the pleated chiffon skirt for a busy day at work. I love long skirts or maxi dresses especially the pleated ones. They are effortlessly stylish, feminine, classy and extremely comfortable. If you are worried about not knowing what type of outfit will suit your body shape, just put on the maxi or pleated skirts. You can call them your best friend.

Sleeveless blouse: Raoul (similar)
Pleated chiffon skirt: Forever21

Wednesday
Something fresh and sweet to brighten up Wednesday. The short circle dress is my all time favorite. It does not only make you look younger but also brings out the sweetness and femininity. I call it a "Sweet Young Thing" kind of outfit. Wanna be casual for the weekend? Pair them up with flat sandals or a pair of high heels for a night out or date.

 Thursday

I love how I styled this outfit with matching accessories. It was so spontaneous. I happened to see this pink necklace when I went out with a friend and immediately I thought of pairing it with my pink pencil skirt. At that moment, I knew that I must bring this piece home. This is the final result.

Friday
It was a big, important day for me as I had my final driving test. I was very nervous even though everyone kept saying I would do great, they had confidence in me. They made me feel good and bad at the same time. It would be very embarrassed If I failed again. Disaster!

Get this look
Pants: Banana Republic (similar)
Sleeveless ruffle blouse: Rachel Roy

And YES! I was wearing that heels to drive the car and one of my driving instructors kept telling me how amazed he was to see I was able to control the pedals while driving. Best part yet? I freaking PASSED MY DRIVING TEST! It was a HUGE relief once I saw the result and I almost screamed when I received the result. I'm sure you would probably react the same way.

My result!

Everything went so well. I drove car number 7 which is my lucky number. When I saw the car and met the tester, I just felt so relieved and I knew that I would do fine during the test. It's so hard to explain! Whoever wished me, prayed for me, thank you so much. I didn't disappoint you at least. :D

And to reward myself with the biggest achievement of the year, I went to buy an iPhone5 on Saturday which it was first officially released on Friday. I was super lucky that I didn't have to queue for hours like many people. Some started queuing since 6am in the morning before the shop even opened. Salute them! I got my iPhone 5 without having to queue at all. Thank my personal assistant, Carmen, lolz.

Presenting to you, the beautiful baby number 5 has just joined Crystal's family.

Saturday
Dressed up for the exclusive Formula 1 Fashion Party on board a luxurious German ship and floating hotel, Lili Marleen at Keppel Bay. It was, indeed, very fun event with live music on the yacht, fashion show, drink, and networking. Here is what I wore for the event.

Bandage dress: Herve Leger
Accessories: Fantasy Jewelry Box (similar)
Clutch: Michael Kors

Caught some celebrities in this dress too

From left: Stephanie Pratt, Carmen Electra & Lil' Kim

Arriving at Stylo F1 Fashion Party.

Did I say the event was held at the floating hotel earlier? Here it is!

We had a free flow of beer, champagne while social networking and watching the fashion show. I had 2 bottles of beer and I thought I was drunk as I saw the wall in front of me moving up and down. That awkward moment when I realized I was actually on a yacht, lolz.

Lili Marleen, a 250 ft. Malaysian tall ship celebrating her maiden voyage to Singapore. The event was hosted in partnership with the owners of the German-built Lili Marleen, named after the famous World War 2 song by Marlene Dietrich and Lale Andersen.

The fashion showcase featured mythical sea creatures was brought to life by the creative use of recycled materials and wastes from our daily life. How interesting!

Models of the night...

Group models.

I took one photo with them too but I looked like a tiny midget among them so I'm not gonna post it up. Very depressing to look at it!

This fun and happening event also ended my week on a high note. I accomplished what I need to, had the chance to meet many new people, learned new things every single day and most important thing, I had an opportunity to share them with you, my readers.

Thank you for reading!
Love,
Crystal

STORY OF MY WISDOM TOOTH EXTRACTION

STORY OF MY WISDOM TOOTH EXTRACTION

The post title might sound a little bit unglamorous,  but it's straight to the point. Today, I'm going to talk about my wisdom teeth removal experience at Implantdontics Cosmetic & Implant Dentistry.

I'm sure many of you are afraid of having your wisdom tooth removed because of the pain, gum swelling and bleeding for a couple of days or even a week.

So was I!

When I asked my friends about wisdom teeth removal, most of their reactions were "Oh my god! It's going to be painful. Scary"-  "You have to take at least 1 week medical leave"- "You won't be able to eat anything except for porridge". "Your face will get swollen."

I was so scared that it took me... one year to finally have my wisdom teeth removed regardless numerous reminders by my dentist. It's ridiculous, I know.

I tried to ease myself by thinking that my wisdom teeth haven't given me any problem for more than 20 years; there is no reason why I need to remove them. Saying "them" I meant I had to remove not one but four teeth. Can you imagine? It's like quadrupling the pain.

And you are asking me why do I need to remove four wisdom teeth? Here is the answer:

Story of my wisdom tooth extraction at Implantdontics dental clinic

I am so "fortunate" to have two stupid teeth grow diagonally inward, I don't know why they are called wisdom teeth. And for God's sake, they are big, so they left no room for the other teeth to grow. My dentist said If I didn't remove them, very much likely decay would occur. By then, things would get worse. As I had to remove two lower teeth, the two upper ones were advised to be removed as well.

I got a heart attack when I heard it from Dr.  Dennis Leong. There were many questions popped up in my head:

- OMG! I'm going to die! How could I tolerate the pain?
- How am I going to eat without my teeth?
- My teeth don't cause me any pain, why do I have to bring the pain to myself?
- Oh my God, it's going to cause me a bomb. One wisdom tooth extraction costs S$800- S$900. Four teeth will cost me S$3200 - S$3600???????

Enough dramas yet? Does it sound similar to you? But I'm going to tell you why I still decided to have my four teeth removed at the end.

I went to the Implantdontics Clinic on Friday afternoon with a very relaxing and worry-free mood.

Arriving at the clinic.

While waiting for my turn, I managed to snap some photos of the clinic interior.

Love the cozy environment. They even have FREE WIFI for you to surf in case your data network sucks.

Just in case, everyone is busy inside, press the bell to be served :D

Story of my wisdom tooth extraction at Implantdontics dental clinic

I'm sure many dental clinics out there are offering the same services, but tell me which clinic is as conveniently reachable as Implantdontics? Whatapps, Skype, Viber, SMS, Phone call, Email. You name it; they have it! Very well -equipped with technology.

The room where I had my wisdom teeth removed. Bright and beautiful!

Another room where I had my gum treatment done. Most of the time when I was in that chair, I felt like sleeping. Too comfortable to take it.

Story of my wisdom tooth extraction at Implantdontics dental clinic

Back to the procedure, Dr. Leong asked me earlier if I wanted to stay awake or to be unconscious during the surgery. I chose to stay awake. Not because I was so brave, I tried to cut cost  *lolz*. So I was given a local anesthetic to numb the entire area where my teeth were removed.

Dr. Leong arranged his colleague- Dr. Aidan Yeo to do the surgery for me. As what I was told by Dr. Leong and the clinic staffs, Dr. Aidan Yeo is one of the most experienced doctors in wisdom tooth extraction. "You won't even feel the pain at all. He will just need  less than 3 minutes to extract your teeth". And so I trusted them.

Dr. Yeo started extracting my two upper teeth first. I laid down, closed my eyes and counted to 10 to distract myself from thinking how painful it could be. When I counted to 5, I heard Dr. Yeo said "OK! One is gone!"

I was like "Are you serious? Why so fast? I couldn't feel anything?". And that moment, I knew I was terrified by too many comments that people gave me OR their dentists did a bad job. Dr. Yeo's experience was beyond my expectation. He needed only 5 minutes to extract my two upper teeth and approximately 30- 35 minutes to take out the lower two whereas normal procedures usually take 60 minutes to complete.

Best part? I didn't feel so much pain, even when he opened up my gum tissue over the teeth, cut the teeth into small pieces, took them out one by one and sewed the gum back up. The pain was totally bearable and not scary as what people said AT ALL. For this, I need to thank to Implantdontics clinic, Dr. Leong & Dr. Yeo for making my life so much easier. Why?

1. I needed only three days medical leave instead of 6 even though Dr. Leong gave me six days medical leave. So nice of him!
2. Unbelievably enough, I could eat rice on 3rd day itself. Some have to eat porridge for 1 week, poor them.
3. After two days, the pain was gone like magic. How could it even be possible? :-O
4. Instead of having to pay S$3500- S$4800 as what other clinics charge, I only needed to pay S$2500 for everything. Isn't it awesome? You tell me "Cheap things are not good"? You are wrong! Not forget to mention you can even claim from your Medisave if you are a Singaporean or Singapore PR.

After all, if you are still wondering which dental clinic should you go to have your wisdom teeth surgery done, I would recommend you to Implantdontics Clinic.

Their clinic is located at 1 Orchard Boulevard, #10- 02, Camden Medical Centre.
They do offer other services like teeth whitening, gum treatment, root canal treatment, dental implant, etc.... My teeth are now taken care of them, and I totally love it.

Call them to fix an appointment now if your teeth have any problem. +65- 6737 7022 (during office hours) OR +65- 8394 0827 (after office hours)

Also, don't forget to check out their website www.implantdontics.com for more information about what do they offer.

If you have any question about my personal experience or clinical services, feel free to leave me some comments below. I'll try to answer as much as I could. If not, Call +65- 6737 7022 and don't forget to mention my name "Crystal Phuong" when seeing Dr. Leong.  :)

Lastly, good luck everyone with your wisdom teeth removal! It won't be painful at all IF you have it done at Implantdontics, I guarantee!
