Crystal's Closet: Oxblood leather skirt & draped chain necklace.

Hi everyone

I had so much fun shooting the outfit of the day today. It was also lucky that we had a meeting with client at the most beautiful place in Singapore- the bay area that is. And so, once finished the meeting, my mind immediately told me: "Take some outfit photos, please" while my stomach kept yelling "It's almost 2pm. Where is my lunch?". My mind was stronger so it won. :D

It took us less than 20 minutes to get all these beautiful shots done. Photos credit to my personal photographer: Faith. :D

Today outfit featured the oxblood leather skirt with matching statement draped chain necklace.

Go to work in style!

Everytime I wear circle skirt, I always feel like dancing for no reason. Thinking about when we turn around, the skirt moves along beautifully. And I asked Faith if she could help me to capture the turning shot. After approximately 10- 15 failed attempts, I got these two are my favorites.

Almost perfect! IF only the bag was in the photo too :D

::Outfit::
Black blouse: ZARA (Similar here or here)
Oxblood circle skirt: H&M (Similar here or here)
Handbag: Oasap
Sunglasses: Smartbuyglasses
Necklace: Forever21

And the perfect one after all. This is also my most favorite photo since I started taking outfit photo of myself a year ago til now, lolz.

Hope you like this outfit pairing and especially the photos. Will share with you more in the next entry.
Thank you very much for reading and your support.
Love,

{CRYSTAL'S CLOSET}: LEOPARD PRINT

{CRYSTAL'S CLOSET}: LEOPARD PRINT

Hi everyone,

How many of you are fan of leopard print? I know I am and I can pretty rock any single piece of leopard print on me without worrying what people think. There was one time I had a meeting with my client (a guy) and I wore bodycon 2 pieces dress- black & leopard print. My client commented "You must be very open-minded and wild girl". Hmmm, that sounded so wrong at the mid of a formal meeting, I wasn't sure or pretended not to know what he meant, I ignored the comment and changed the conversation to different topic.

So, what I wanted to say is "Do most people think like that?:" You are wearing leopard/ animal print, you must be wild, out-going, open-minded and daring? Not necessary! In fact, everyone can wear animal print regardless the personality, characters or background. All you need to know is to find the right way of wearing your leopard outfit and to make it work on your body.

I have so many leopard printed pieces in my closet: Leopard belt, leopard skirt, leopard jeans, leopard dress  and even earrings. I just love them because they are so fun and cool. Yesterday, I wore my favorite leopard jeans to go for work and that's how I styled it up! Let me share with you some tips/ ways to rock your leopard print.

1. Balance or Tone- Me- Down
Since leopard print is such a heavily visual outfit, you need to have something to balance it out and to make sure people will not fully pay attention on your animal printed part of your outfit. Try to pair your leopard top with neutral colors i.e black, white, camel, khaki bottom or vice versa...

On me, I was wearing Lace Black blouse from ZARA, black pumps and black handbag

2. Complimenting and Accessorizing.
Adding colors is one of the ways to make your outfit look more fun and lively. Leopard print not only can be paired with black but also can get along with many other colors i.e burgundy, red, dark green, navy blue, neon etc...But if you don't want to have too many colors on you, small pieces of accessories would do the job.

I grabbed a "series" of red along: red belt, red necklace, red watch and bangle.

3. Less is More.
One of the main important rules when wearing animal print outfit is that: Don't over do it no matter how much you love it. It would be a nightmare to see a lady in leopard print from head to toe: leopard hat, leopard blouse, leopard jeans plus leopard shoes and accessories. People may mistake you for an animal just escape from the zoo. I'm sorry! This might sound harsh but it's true.

Blouse: ZARA (Similar here or here and here)
Jeans: Forever21 (Similar here and here )
Pumps: Charles & Keith (Similar here and here)
Handbag: Oasap
Accessories: Mata Traders necklace - MonFae watch

If you have never worn any animal print outfit before, perhaps you can try by wearing some small pieces i.e earrings, necklaces, bag and shoes with leopard details and see how you feel about that. Once  you get your confidence and comfort, it's time to put on the leopard blouse or dress with a pair of sexy heels. I can guarantee it will give you an instant boost to your sexiness.

I hope you've found some useful tips on how to wear animal print outfit. Please don't forget to share the photos on instagram and tag me at @crystalphuong, I would love to see how you wear it.

Thank you very much for reading. Hope you have an amazing weekend.
Love,
Crystal

Crystal's Closet: Stripe it up!

Crystal's Closet: Stripe it up!

Hey everyone!

Time flies so fast, another week is almost coming to an end. I still have so many things need to accomplished. People said that "Stressed" is "Desserts" spelling backward. Unfortunately, this Dessert SUCKS and I hate it. But no matter what, I will still wrap this month up in a positive note. *thumb up*.  Stress should be treated as Motivation, NOT a Problem

Today, my outfit is very autumn-winter oriented with leather, suede in burgundy, brown, oxblood colors. On top, I was wearing more toward spring-summer trend: chiffon ruffled neck blouse. It might sound weird in your own imagination about my spring top, winter bottom kinda outfit. But turned out, they blended in well together.

Singapore weather is sunny and hot all year round but it doesn't mean you can't wear leather skirt and suede pumps once a while. I wore my leather skirt today and I felt it was so cool down there because it's circle skirt, the wind was being very tricky. ;)

Here are some of the shoots of outfit of the day we took. Thank to my personal photographer, Faith! xoxo

I love how comfortable the outfit made me feel and yet still very chic. It didn't make you look slovenly.

What I love most about this type of skirt is that it can lie about your actual waist size especially after a heavy meal. Also, circle skirt is so versatile that it can be worn and look good on many different types of body shapes.

Suede pumps is always classic and timeless.

::Outfit::
Stripped blouse: G2000
Leather skirt: H&M (similar here or here)
Bag: Oasap
Pumps: Crystal's Closet (similar here or here and here)
Accessories: Swarovski watch- ASOS rings

I hope you like this fun pairing and find it useful. Fashion nowadays is so opened and limited-less.  I still remember 10 years ago, we could only see leather, suede, wool, velvet materials in winter. Now? You see them almost everywhere and at anytime when people feel like wearing them regardless the seasons. So don't restrict yourself from wearing something you love. The best outfit is the one that makes you feel most confident in it

Good luck with your new outfit pairing attempt and don't forget to share with me some photos, leave me some comments below.
Til then, stay pretty and happy!
Love,
Crystal

MY FIRST TRIP TO BALI (Day 3 & Day 4)

MY FIRST TRIP TO BALI (Day 3 & Day 4)

Part 1 of my trip to Bali is HERE

We started our day 3 as early as day 2 at 7.30am and there were only 2 places we wanted to visit:

1. Ubud Tour for Elephant Riding

First thing first, group photo before we were splited into 2 groups.

From far left: Nicole, Ching Ching, Camile, Jacqueline and me.

That was my outfit of the day: Bikini underneath, beach dress & cowboy hat with sunnies. I know, the cowboy hat didn't seem to match the beach-y theme but it protected my skin from sunburn.

Ching Ching & I.

Carmen wanted to have a photo with me too.

Getting ready! Nicole was sharing the seat with me.  We were struggling right here as the elephant kept moving and the seat was too small for 2 persons (even though we are petit human being). It was scary at first.

but once we settled down, it seemed cool and fun.

Even I could say "Cheese" to the camera

Nicole was so courage that she sat on the elephant's neck without any support. If I was her, I would have to hold and pull the elephant's ears all journey long, lolz.

Done with elephant riding. We en routed to the next long awaited destination.

This was also the last destination that would make our Bali trip complete- Dreamland beach. This was the only place that I was so looking forward to visit as I heard so much about how beautiful Bali beaches are, I wanted to witness it for real. And here I was, doing my suntanning at Dreamland beach.

Us: Carmen, Ching Ching, Nicole and me (from left)

The beach is so beautiful as its name. How could I say no to a photoshoot

Victoria's Secret inspired poses, lolz

Enough for modeling shots yet? Now it's fun time with the girls.

Carmen, Camile, Ching Ching, Crystal. The Cs love bikini

Jump shot.

Yoga shot.

and my favorite dance shot by the beach in sunset. I've been wanting to do this for so long.

At this point, my Bali trip was complete. I was so happy and satisfied because I accomplished what I wanted to do.

At night, we went back to Potato Head for pool party and drinking. It was last night we were in Bali, it's time to get drunk and enjoyed ourself.

Jacqueline, Nicole, Carmen & James.

Carmen, James, Fiona and me. I think we were busy to take photos more than we drank.

Fiona, me, Ching Ching & Camile.

Group shot of us: The happy people.
After drinking, some went for foot massage, some went out, I went back hotel room to sleep. :D

Last day before leaving to airport, I managed to find sometimes to shop for gifts and souvenirs.
Navy blue rompers with pink wedges walking along the free market. Things are really cheap there but you have to know how to bargain. I usually bargained at 1/3 of their price, when they refused to give, I just pretended to walk away and they then called me back, lolz. Don't say I'm Cheapo, I'm just good at it.

The shopping street is so long that it leads me all the way to another beautiful beach. Not much time left, I & Carmen only took a chair, sat down and enjoyed some drinks.

And Oh, I got my very first temporarily tattoo right here for only S$3. Initially, the guy quoted me for S$30 and I paid $3 only. I thought with such low price, he would leave me alone. But No, he was so persistent for God's sake, stood there for more than 20 minutes and tried to bargain with me. After his numerous attempts, I still won. Hahahhaa!

Here, the $3 tattoo. It was my very first time to have ink on my body so I was quite excited to show it to people.

That was also the last thing I did in Bali.
Few hours later, we were already at the airport ready to fly home.

Overall, Bali is such a memorable and beautiful place. The food is nice, shopping is relatively cheap there compares to one in Singapore (definitely, I know). We enjoyed ourself so much even it was tiring for the first 2 days.

We also had some bad experiences there too. My friend went to money changer to exchange Singapore dollars to Ruppiah and somehow she got cheated by the couple at the shop even though she counted her exchanged money thrice. So please remember, if you happen to visit Bali and need to go to money changer: Don't ever let them count your money and hand it to you. You must always be the last one who counts

For myself, I wasn't cheated. I overly paid the taxi-driver 10 times the price that it was supposed to be. I wasn't familiar with the currency as there were too many zeros on their notes and I mis-read the 25,000 ruppiah as 250,000 ruppiah instead. I was so nice that I even gave the taxi-driver tips, wtf. The driver took the money, counted but didn't even say a word to me. He just drove off quickly. An hour later only I realized that I did "charity" work. Oh Well! Lesson learned.

Other than that, Bali is fine and definitely re-visited destination.

Have you travelled to Bali before?  What do you think about this place? What is your worst and best memory there? Please share with me at the comment section below so that we could learn from each other's experiences

I hope you enjoy the blog entry, the photos, the journey I shared with you and sorry for taking so long. Will talk to you more in the next entry.
Something exciting coming up! Stay tuned!
Love,
Crystal
