NEW YORK FASHION WEEK SS15 DAY 3

Arriving New York two days after New York Fashion Week (#NYFW) started, I had only one evening to settle down, to rest after 25 hour flight journey and to get ready for the next morning. Day 3 of New York Fashion Week (#NYFW) was indeed day 1 for me. Despite the jet lag, I made sure myself to be focused and awake at all time to follow the super overwhelming NYFW schedule I had in hands.

This was my very first time attending #NYFW, first time visiting Lincoln Center, thus everything was new to me. I didn't know what to expect, neither did I know what would happen when I stepped inside the venue. I thought it was probably similar to some fashion weeks I attended in Singapore.

I was so wrong.

Right after I stepped out of the cab, I was immediately captured by some street style photographers standing at the entrance. Some took photos of my hair while others took close up shots of my boots. Many photographers stopped me to request for photos, and the moment I stopped walking and started posing, the rest of the photographers came together and snapped their shutter away. They made me feel like I am a celebrity or something.

I was so overwhelmed at first, but then quickly got my confidence to "deal with it", to relax myself and to start smiling for the cameras. It felt really good after a while.

Surprisingly, this non-designer blue striped dress with a white cape blazer received so many compliments on that day. I bought the dress at different a vintage store in Singapore and the blazer online  a while ago. They are not expensive stuffs, but they look so well together, and they match perfectly with my hair, I decided to wear them on my first day at Fashion Week. It turned out to be the outfit that was captured the most by the paparazzi's lens.

Perhaps, fashion is really not about what you wear, it's how you wear it.

Thank you so much for reading!
