WHAT TO WEAR FOR SPRING?

WHAT TO WEAR FOR SPRING?

Writing this blog entry reminds me of Spring season so much. I miss Spring time in Vietnam coz there is no Spring in Singapore, only rainy and sunny season :(.

Spring a beautiful season of rebirth, renewal and regrowth. And when we talk about Spring, we MUST talk about flowers. Many kinds of flower blossom in Spring. That's also the reason why in many fashion designs for  Spring collection, you see flower prints, colorful dresses are always the main focus .

So, what about you? What are you wearing for Spring season?

I've just created few looks for Spring season on Polyvore website. Gonna show you some styles that I like.  Feel free to leave any comment, let me know which one is your favorite. And the best is, if you like what I style over here, you can simply click on the link to purchase the products. Best!

Enjoy.
1. Spring Kiss.

Spring kiss!

In this look, I'm pairing The Harper Print Chiffon Asymmetrical Maxi Dress with some matching accessories like bangles, earring, bag and straw summer hat. I know some items are quite expensive to purchase here, but I'm sure you can find similar items else where, as long as it matches the color, style etc....

2. The magical power of Purple
The magical power or Purple!

People used to think Purple is such a old, dull color. It's hard to match with anything and it's not suitable for young girls. I don't think so. Purple is such a romantic, sensual and magical color that can go with any age. It's all about how you pair it up. Here, I'm choosing a bodycon floral printed dress with a purple belt, purple & blue clutch, purple blue shoes and some red accessories to match with the red flower on the dress. Look at how pretty the outfit is!

3. Green is Spring best friend

Green is Spring's best friend.

When I first looked at this dress, I was completely in love. It's so sweet, fresh and youthful. So here, I'm styling a Vintage look for this outfit with a big hat, green wedges, green bangles and vintage accessories.

4. Bohemian Floral Girly Look.
Bohemian floral girly look!

Bohemian look is also one of the most favorite looks this Spring season. I love this floral strapless maxi dress, super flowy and light. Using opposite rule, I'm pairing  a pair of simple sandals and focusing more on accessories like bangles, big statement rings, earrings, necklace and headband. What do you think?

Do you like any of the look above? Leave me some comments to let me know what you think of these styles or if you want me to pair up any favorite items of yours i.e a skirt, jumpsuit, a short, blazer, dress or anything.

Til then, see you guys in the next post. For now, here is the sneak peek of the next episode: "Crystal's Closet", can't wait to share it with you guys. Stay tuned to watch!

HOW TO WEAR A BLAZER FOR DIFFERENT OCCASSIONS?

HOW TO WEAR A BLAZER FOR DIFFERENT OCCASSIONS?

Hey everyone!

It's TGIF! I hope you guys had a great day so far, time to shut down your laptop at work and head to dinner or party tonight.

I have few events need to attend tonight, but unfortunately I just had my FOUR wisdom teeth removed this afternoon. So tonight, I'm going to just stay home and "enjoy" the pain :(. On the flip side of it, I have more times (7 days medical leave) to write my blog, do a new video tutorial or whatever I want. Think positively, nothing is better than people pay you to stay at home and....rest. BEST!

Anyway, I've uploaded a 3rd episode of Crystal's Closet which was completely shot, directed, edited by me. Amazing, huh? And I'm super excited to show to you guys. I've uploaded it few days ago on YouTube, so if you follow me on Twitter or YouTube, you've probably watched, but if you have not followed me yet, pleaseeeee

So, the 3rd episode of Crystal's Closet is about "Pairing a blazer".

In those days, blazers were used to be blamed as "Boring", "Serious", "Formal" outfits which are only worn on the big days with big important events, meetings etc... We hardly thought blazer can be sexy, cheeky, playful & stylish looking. But now, that concept isn't appropriate anymore. We can wear a blazer almost everyday if we want to (*make sure you have few different blazers in your closet though, if you know what I mean).

So yeah, I love blazers. I have at least 5-6 different styles in my closet and I was thinking "I don't want to wear a blazer with pants like others. I want to wear it with short or dress, can I?". I then started pairing up my blazer with most of the outfits in my closet. Amazingly enough, it worked perfectly well together, from a dress, circle skirt, short, maxi dress to a jumpsuit... Everything. So in this tutorial, I'm going to create 3 different looks from a blazer which are most commonly worn and preferred.

Enjoy the video!

I'm sure there are many different ways to wear your blazer, you just gotta be creative and open up your mind to try out. Some certain looks are good for others might not be good on you. Just keep trying until you find your own style.

I've got mine! What about you? Feel free to share with me your style in the comment section below or link me up to your Twitter, Facebook, Instagram post, I would love sharing your unique style on my blog.

For now, please take a look at some photos from the shoot.

1. The "Double- S" Look

Simple & Sophisticated it is!

Super love these heels I got from Charles &Keith. Perfectly match with my GUESS dress too.

This is how you style it.

2. The "Forever21" Look

I absolutely love this pairing. It's so convenient, especially on Friday night. With blazer on, you are professional at work, with the blazer off, you become a sexy party queen at night :D

A belt is definitely a MUST have for this look, it gives a statement to the entire outfit. You can choose a contrasted colored belt or a shiny crystallized belt like mine. It works perfectly.

Sequin earrings that have the same colors with the dress.
For accessories, there are 2 rules to follow. Either you choose matching color earrings with what you are wearing or contrasted color accessories with the outfit. i.e black dress goes with red/ white earrings or vice versa.

The blazer I featured above is from ZARA, i love it. Super fitting, can you see?

Glam shoot of myself.

3. The "Chic- Girl" Look.

I called it The Chic Girl look because this look makes you look so young, dynamic, energetic and sexy too.

Here is my long necklace with... Crystal. Yes, I know, you see me every where in your life. :D

Pair it up with short shorts to show your legs. However, this look is only suitable for the girls who have long, nice, hairless and firm legs. Mine is not long but firm and hairless (thanks to 10 years of dancing). If you have big, hairy legs and countless scars on your legs, work on that first before rocking this look. You want a guy to say "WOW" instead of "EWWW" when they first meet up, don't you? I'm just being honest, no offense.

Multi-colored metal earrings, from Forever21.

And that's it for today's post, I hope you enjoy my video also my blog post. Again, if you have any cool idea you want to share, drop me a comment below.

Stay Sexy, Healthy and Keep Rocking a blazer.
Love,
Crystal

{CRYSTAL'S CLOSET}: WEEKLY WARDROBE (EP1)

{CRYSTAL'S CLOSET}: WEEKLY WARDROBE (EP1)

Hi everyone!

The weekend went by so fast and it's Monday here again. How did your weekend go? I hope it was good. If it was suck, then make it better the next one.

Nothing much from me, just thought of enlightening you guys with some photos on my Instagram. Do you have Instagram? Follow me there too @crystalphuong. I literally got addicted and spent more time on it than on Facebook. It is such a cool app to edit, upload and share your beautiful photos with people. My main interest is still fashion, beauty so most of my photos are my today outfit posts. Here are some recaps of what I wore from last week :). Enjoy!
Monday!

It's like a norm, I often wear pants and shirt on Monday. I believe dressing up professionally usually plays a very important part in motivating me. At least, it makes me feel "pink" when everyone is complaining about "Monday blue"

Not to forget, accessorizing is a key.

Tuesday!

Let's loose with a fitting dress to give you some credits in femininity and curve (if you have ones). Caution: This look doesn't apply to tomboyish girls, no offence, but I think they will not like it. :)

Coordinated colored accessories from Diva.

Wednesday!

Back to the old days with big curvy hairstyle pulled to one side, blue navy dress and skinny gold belt plus gold a99ccessories & heels. I absolutely adore this look. It's so soft and sensual. People advised me to keep long and curvy hair like that, but somehow I'm afraid of looking older than my age, lolz. What do you think?

Thursday!

I had an appointment with clients, hence I gotta dress up formally and appropriately. So here you go!
Checkered pants with Zara white shirt (my favorite shirt so far). Pairing them up with black pumps from Charles & Keith plus some red accessories. I love combining red accessories with black pants and white shirt and this method always works for me. You look classy and not boring.

Friday!

T.G.I.F! I used to have parties or catch up session with friends after works. Thus, having transformable outfit is super essential. I paired up a blazer with full circle dress and high heels. So at work, I still look professional and at the party, I look chic. That's they key :)

Saturday!

The weekend is here! The maxi dress is the best choice for a brunch or a walk on Saturday. I chose a white jean jacket from F21 to go along with it to keep me warm in the morning.

Random photos:

One of my favorite sunglasses which I wear almost everyday :D

Bought 2 pairs of shoes last week and they are so comfortable to walk omg. Love them!. The brown one is what I need and the green one is what I want :p

Had my nails done. I decided to go for simple nails art this time.

Spring kiss! Bought a new lipstick so I thought of snapping a photo of how the color turns out :D

So that's highlight of my wardrobe for a week. Nothing much! Just being playful with colors, styles and some accessories. You see! The simple stuffs can look amazing if you know how to mix and match them.

I hope you can pick up a style that you like and don't forget to share with me. I still remember how I felt when I first seeing some photos of my friend's outfits on their facebook wall after numbers of my #todayoutfits photos posted up. It feels so motivating!

So keep them coming!

Hope you guys have a great week ahead.
Stay pretty!
Love,
Crystal

P/s: You guys might be asking "What about Sunday?" - "What do you wear on Sunday". Errrhhh, I'm naked!
Lolz *Just kidding*. I usually stay at home on Sunday to recharge and I just wear a short and simple cotton T-shirt so It's kinda lame to take all these pictures to show it here. :

BOTOX AND NOSE FILLER AT ASTIQUE, THE AESTHETIC CLINIC.

BOTOX AND NOSE FILLER AT ASTIQUE, THE AESTHETIC CLINIC.

Right! I'm talking about it again and I'm very sure there are many of you are still curious about this topic because everyday when I check my blog statistic, I see people searching for keyword "Nose Filler treatment" and ended up in my blog. I guess, people are in hunger for this topic. Time to reveal the secret:

I've just had my jaw botox and nose filler done :D
It's awesome!

I know what your reaction is and I had the same reaction too 5 years ago. "OMG!" "Eww", "What?" or whatever it is. 5 years ago, when I read an article talking about some people getting botox or filler done to make them look younger, I used to criticize them and called them a cheater. I thought "OMG! It's so dangerous. It will damage your face in  long term" "Why do they need to do that?" bla bla bla....

Can't believe that 5 years later, I got my first botox & filler done and now I'm loving it. To clarify, I didn't eat my own words and become a cheater. I learned and had the right point of view about what is the true story behind the magical botox & filler.

Last 2 weeks, I went to Astique The Aesthetic Clinic to get botox injection for my square jawline and filler for my nose bridge. C'mon every girl wants to have oval-shaped face, big eyes, high nose and fuller lips like Angelina Jolie and there is nothing wrong with that. Unfortunately, not many girls are naturally born with all that. We need help!

Honestly, plastic surgery is one of the choices pop-ing up in my head time to time. Ok! You can say I'm talking crap because I have totally zero courage to do plastic surgery but I keep talking about it as if I'm gonna do it tomorrow, lolz. When I found out about botox & filler (through internet research), I was absolutely thrilled. Really? My square jaw can be reduced? My nose can be higher? OMG! It's like a dream come true.

I know, you guys probably still not believe that these things work, so for a better comparison, here is the photo before- after in case you want the proof

Look at my chio V-shape jaw and my nose! I'm so in love :D Can you see the difference now? Botox and filler not only enhance your face features but also help to maintain your skin condition very well. Lot of my friends told me that my skin looks so glowy lately, so healthy and bright. I look prettier and they can't find out what did I do. How fun to play the guess game! :D

I'm sure there are tons of questions you would like to ask, below I'm gonna just answer you some of the most common ones:

1. How much does Botox/ Filler cost?
Averagely should be from S$900- S$1800 for filler. Jaw slimming should be from S$400- S$500 depends on clinic. It doesn't hurt you to call to clinic and ask. My clinic Astique The Aesthetic Clinic contact +65- 6732 2801.

2. It looks painful, doesn't it?
Absolutely no because numbing cream will be applied and you will feel numbed instead of painful :D

3. How long does it last?
It last from 6- 8 months. For my case, I'm lucky because my first nose filler lasted up to a year :D

4. Does my face get swollen after that? Do I need to take medical leave?
What? Medical leave? You can go out and party right after the treatment, lolz. No swollen face for me at all, not even bruises. To some people, there might be some needle marks or bruises on their face which can be covered by make-up.

5. What is the difference between botox and filler then?
Both can be used to reduce wrinkles and in combination to achieve the best result. The difference is filler is used to plump up facial features to get more volume while botox is to reduce and weaken the muscles. Don't ever use botox for your nose and filler for your jaw, lolz.

6. My boyfriend doesn't allow me to do botox or filler even I really want to, what should I do?
Find another boyfriend! It's your face and you have the right to do whatever you want to make you happy (make sure it's the right thing) and he is only allowed to give opinion NOT a decision. Can you imagine a life of having a demanding and arbitrary boyfriend/ husband and you can't do what you want to? Poor you.

7. What do I need to prepare before going for treatment?
Make sure you have done enough research about the procedure that you want to do, consult with doctor. Most important thing you need to prepare before the treatment is cash/ cheque/ credit card. :D

In summary, Botox & Filler are safe and suitable for all ages. If you really need to ask for more information, please call the clinic +65- 6732 2801.

I'm gonna end this blog entry with some photos taken during the filming and treatment process. It's boring to read all the texts, I know.

A glam shoot at the clinic before the treatment started for "Outfit of the day" tweet. I was wearing black bodycon dress from Forever21with some gold accessories.

HOW TO TRANSFORM A BASIC SHIRT INTO A TUBE TOP?

HOW TO TRANSFORM A BASIC SHIRT INTO A TUBE TOP?

Last week, I finished shooting and editing my second fashion video tutorial Crystal's Closet. This is collaboration project between me and Zane Lee, my cinematographer. We are trying to make one new video a week if possible. Though it was our first project together but we managed to work pretty well together. Zane is such an amazing and talented man. I love his skills, knowledge and passion.

The weather that day wasn't so helpful as it started raining heavily when we were about to shoot. I was so  hopeless and depressed looking at the pouring rain. Hence, the first half of the shot we did at my...balcony :D. Second half of it, we were quickly doing some walking outdoor shoots when the rain has just stopped about 10 minutes and started raining again

Thankfully, everything was completed after 3 hours. It took me another 2 days to edit, do voice-over and everything.

The reason why I came out with this tutorial is because I often listen to many girls saying that they used to wear basic shirt to work but not anymore since there are so many styles, trends and creative pieces from Taiwan, Korea, Hongkong nowadays with ribbon, lace, flowery hems etc...They look so girly, cute and sweet. As such, poor basic white shirt is officially abandoned

Some say "White shirt looks so boring", while others say "It makes me look like a waitress in a restaurant". I say "That's not true! Style is not what you wear, it's how you wear it". I proved them wrong by making many different interesting looks from a very normal basic shirt I bought from G2000 a while ago. Here are some samples of how you can style it.

Some photos from the shoot:

1. Office Look.

Paring a white shirt with black pencil skirt, a pair of pumps and some red accessories (watch, ring, belt) to add more colors to the outfit

And here is how it looks. Who dare to say I look like a waitress?

2. Casual Look

This is perfect look for Saturday, Sunday brunch with some friends. You can even wear this casual business look for a meeting, it still looks formal and yet not so uptight.

Paring blazer with jeans is one of my favorite things to do.

For this look, you can wear wedges but i think high heels or pumps will give you extra credits for being stylish, sexy and professional.

You can choose to wear red accessories but I decided to go for gold instead because I don't want to be so overly accessorized.

3. Sexy Look.

You gotta be surprised if I say you can definitely be sexy with a basic white shirt. It's the matter of how you wear it

When we talk about SEXINESS, we talk about 5" high heels...

and red lipstick.

and a tube top. Amazingly enough, the tube top you are seeing above is from a basic white shirt that people say it's meant for boring people or waitress only. :D

The bottom line is: Don't restrict yourself to any idea, concept. The amazing things always come from the most ordinary stuffs.

I hope this tutorial gives you some ideas and inspiration to work on your closet. Remember, BACK TO BASIC.

Good luck & see you soon.

Love,
Crystal
