Levi's 501 Interpretation Event

Levi's 501 Interpretation Event

Event/ Product Launch:

Hi everyone,
Last week was such a hectic and crazy week for me with lot of works and events. One of the exciting events I was invited to attend by OmySG was Levi's 501 Interpretation

I'm sure you probably know or hear about Levi's but not many of you know the history of this brand. Let me share with you:

The Levi’s® brand epitomizes classic American style and effortless cool. Since their invention by Levi Strauss & Jacob Davis in 1873, Levi’s® jeans have become the most recognizable and imitated clothing in the world – capturing the imagination and loyalty of people for generations. Today, the Levi’s® brand portfolio continues to evolve through a relentless pioneering and innovative spirit that is unparalleled in the apparel industry.

This Spring/Summer 2013, the Levi’s® brand is marking the 140th anniversary of its iconic 501® jeans by introducing a non-denim Levi’s® 501® collection for the first time. Breaking with tradition, yet maintaining the product’s true essence and timeless spirit, the three-piece non-denim collection is available in true chino, chalk blue and mineral red. The brand will also unveil the next generation in Levi’s® 501® jeans, which feature subtle and thoughtful changes to the design aesthetic, tailoring the product for the pioneers of today.

Levi’s® 501® jeans hold a seminal place in fashion history and over the last 140 years have developed into a cultural icon. From presidents to movie stars, rock stars to fashion icons, and artists to pioneers in technology – Levi’s® 501® jeans are among the most worn and loved jeans in the world.

To celebrate the 140th anniversary, Levi's held an event in ION Orchard with appearance of 4 local celebrities namely: Felicia Chin, Xu Ya Hui, Tosh Zhang and Ian Fang.

Posing at the back-drop with local celebrities before the event started. From left: Ya Hui, Felicia Chin, myself, Ian Fang & Tosh Zhang.

There was a huge crowd in ION Orchard that day. They came to watch and to support their favorite celebrities.

Ivy Tan from  YESS 933FM was the emcee that day.

Event started with our local celebrities short catwalk and introduction showing their way of wearing Levi's outfits.

Each of them had their own uniqueness in wearing their given outfit. While Ya Hui's outfit was fun and funky, Felicia's one was sexy and feminine and Tosh's look was cool and rocky (went well with his hairstyle), Ian's outfit seemed to be more casual and neat.

After introduction, all celebrities were invited to join some games using Levi's apparels.

Identifying different parts on Levi's jeans seemed not tough enough to challenge Felicia, she & her luckiest fan won the first game.

At second games, each celebrity was asked to use Levi's apparels to style 8 Days Shirtless guy, whose model had the highest vote would win the games.

Felicia & her model.

Ian Fang got himself ready.

and this was Ian Fang's style on his model

Ya Hui with her 8 Days Shirtless guy.

Here was what Ya Hui styled for him. She and her model won the games with this most voted outfit

Last but not least, Tosh Zhang and his model.

and the final look.

Which outfit do you like most? Do you want to win any Levi's outfit after reading this blog entry? :D If the answer is YES, here is a chance for you:

From 8 April, Log on to Levis501.com.sg to share your 501® style interpretation!
Simply upload a photo of yourself in a pair of Levi’s® 501® jeans, and include a short write-up explaining your style inspiration.

The top 5 styles will each be rewarded with $300 cash & $200 Levi’s® vouchers!

That's it from me today. Good luck everyone! :)
I'll talk to you soon :)
Love,
Crystal

{EVENT}: ROYAL DRAGON LUXURY VODKA LAUNCH

{EVENT}: ROYAL DRAGON LUXURY VODKA LAUNCH

Last week, I was invited to attend a very special event to celebrate the exclusive launch of Royal Dragon Vodka- Superior Vodka from Russia in Singapore.

Talk about the Royal Dragon Luxury vodka, what is so special behind that name?

Royal Dragon luxury vodka is an epitome of artisanal mastery, combining the best ultra-luxe elements from around the world - the superior Russian vodka, 23-carat edible Swiss gold leaves, distinctive hand-blown bottles by Italian master craftsmen, perfectly-shaped certified diamonds from Belgium embedded and alluring Asian dragon shooting through its centre.
When I arrived at the event, I was so attracted by the unique bottle held by the model when we were taking some photos at the entrance.

Let me show you up-close of what's inside:

THIS is an amazing piece of art, to me!

Come closer

Isn't it beautiful? You can even see the 23 carat gold leaves underneath the bottle.

Royal Dragon luxury vodka is crafted from the finest organic winter harvest rye in Russia and goes through five rounds of distillation through charcoal using a century-old copper pot to enhance the vodka's high-definition purity and clarity of taste. Royal Dragon delivers a drink that tastes outstanding - whether enjoyed neat, on the rocks, or in the mix with your favourite cocktail. So smooth and clean is the luxurious white spirit, it retains its desirable taste even at room temperature.

Talking about the taste, I had 3 glasses of vodka with orange that night. It was so smooth that I didn't feel like I was drinking vodka at all. I mean, I've been trying so many different types of vodkas, some claimed to be the best one, but the smoothness of those vodkas is nowhere near to the standard of Royal Dragon Vodka. I'm not paid to say this so please trust me, you HAVE TO try once for yourself and you'll know that I'm right.

The launch was held successfully at Bacchanalia- a hottest and latest restaurant in town. I've never been there before (didn't even know about this restaurant) even though I passed by their place many time.

Loved what I saw here,  lovely decoration

with very warm ambience and better yet, I met some old friends there

With Blogger friend, Roxanne Chia

with my PA Carmen. The theme of the party was black and gold, that's why you see everyone of us was in black & gold kind of outfit.

Wearing my favorite H&M Black dress and GUESS gold heels to attend the event that night.

Beautiful Ice Dragon Vodka Fountain- the spirit of the drink :)

Mr Michel Morren, CEO and founder of Royal Dragon Luxury Vodka revealing collection.

Talk about the CEO Michel Morren, He is listed in the Guinness Book of World Records for producing "The World's Most Exclusive and Expensive Cellular Phone Ever Sold". It was sold for a record €1,000,000 (approximately US$1.2 million) at the Millionaire Fair in Cannes, France.

Michel says: "I was the first to put diamonds on a phone. And now I am taking vodka to an unprecedented level of luxury. We are creating a new market niche, and I am extremely positive about the future of luxury spending in Asia Pacific."

Being crowned 'The Most Innovative Spirit Brand 2012-2013' by the prestigious China Spirits Awards has sealed Royal Dragon's status as a highly-coveted masterpiece. In addition to Hong Kong and Singapore, Royal Dragon is currently blazing its way through UK, Australia, China, Thailand and Europe and on its way to take out the super-premium vodka category in the US.

The superior balanced vodka comes in four collections for discerning connoisseurs: The Elite, The Imperial, The Emperor 'Limited Edition' 888, and The Customised CollectionPrices range from S$290 for a 750ml Imperial to S$2,390 for a 6L Imperial. The Emperor Limited Edition and The Customized Collection are available upon request at rdv@alphire.com.sg.

Crystal's Closet: Weekly Wardrobe (Ep17) with an up close & personal meeting with Michelle Phan!

Crystal's Closet: Weekly Wardrobe (Ep17) with an up close & personal meeting with Michelle Phan!

I've been super busy lately -_-

I know I say it like millions times and you may presume I'm giving an excuse for being lazy to blog, lolz. But literally, ever single week, I'm always packed with activities and stuffs. Whenever I have time to read my old Weekly Wardrobe episodes, I'm always amazed at how many things happened week by week. It seems never end.

The week before last week was one of my most fulfilling weeks ever!

On Monday, I went to work with very happy and excited mood. I try to keep myself motivated on Monday even though I hate it as much as I hate my period pain. It's very random comparison, YES! Only girls/ women can relate to that. So to my personal experience, whenever I have good Monday, my week will be good. It's actually just a psychological trick but it works :D

If you notice from my previous weekly episodes, I always start my Monday by dressing up very professionally at work. Here I wore full dress and blazer set from GUESS that I bought during my LA trip. This set was picked by my dearest Mike, he always has good taste and I love shopping with him ;)

Basic black and white with strips and prints. It never goes wrong in any occasion.

Tuesday!
High pony tail with simple floral shirt and oliver pants. I love olive, brown, beige pants because they are so classy, elegant and versatile. Literally, you can match them with any colors and they work so well together. If you have never tried any nude, beige color outfit, I suggest you can give a try.

Olive pants: Rebecca Minkoff
Pink belt: B-Low the Belt
Muti- colour rings: ASOS

Wednesday!
I was wearing very cute print chiffon skirt which I bought long time ago but I was reluctant to wear it. Reason? I thought it look puffy on me and I didn't know what to pair with this skirt. But on Wednesday, I woke up late and I didn't have time to decide what to wear. So i quickly grabbed this skirt at my convenience and pulled a white shirt off. It turned out pretty cool, didn't it?
The only thing I need to be aware of is the wind because the skirt is too light and easy to fly up when the wind blows.

White shirt: Tommy Hilfiger

Thursday
I was wearing my own handmade pearl collar necklace with a navy casual dress. Less is more! Sometimes we don't need to wear many things to make an impression.

Friday
Corset top and smiley ring as it was Friday. T.G.I.F! Time to wrap up the whole busy week and chill out. There wasn't any work-party 2 in 1 outfit because I decided to go back and change before heading out to join my girl friends.

So this was my dress for Friday night: red lipstick, curly hair and bodycon black dress. My girl friend couldn't reckon me when I walked into the bar because that was the first time she went to a bar to catch up with me on Friday night. Obviously, that was also the first time she saw me dress up like that. Surprise!

Cleavage for you, perverts! I know you've been waiting for this.

I and my girl friends went to Le Noir, a small bar in Clarke Quay for a drink and ended up dancing like mad inside. It was super fun and impromptu because we didn't plan for this at all.

From left: Nicole, Alicia & Me.
Don't you notice our eyes make up were all the same? Because I did it! Lolz. When they saw me with makeup on, they pulled me to the washroom and asked for a simple make-over. It's girl thing, so cute!

Saturday
I spent my entire Saturday and Sunday to attend makeup workshop by Lancome and purposely to meet up my idol Michelle Phan- a Youtube beauty guru who flew all the way from United States to Singapore for Meet & Greet with her fans.

Her story to fame is so inspiring and what attracted me at first was when i knew she is also Vietnamese but born and living in US. She recorded her make-up tutorial videos in her living room in 2006 with a very simple camcorder and set up. There wasn't anything special about her makeup tutorials on Youtube as many people already did that. Only after Michelle Phan made a youtube makeup tutorial to transform herself into Lady Gaga in her song "Poke Face" which was super duper popular back then, she attracted hundred thousands views from the first week. Now? That video has had 20 millions view so far and still counting. To date, she has more than 2 millions subscribers on her Youtube channel from all over the world. Can you believe it? It's 4 times more than Singapore population.

Not just that, Lancome then invited her to be their spoke person. And that was how Michelle Phan got to fame and success right now. She has 4 different businesses to run and earns million dollars from her Youtube, Blog, etc...at the age of 25. She was born in 1987 and yes she is younger than me 3 years old, wtf!

Life has lot of amazing and surprising things and we will never know what to expect. Just keep dreaming, chase for your dream and don't ever stop. That's what I love about this little sweet girl whom I can relate so much to.

Got a photo taken with her at Sephora during her Meet & Greet!

Sunday
I was attending a Master Class Makeup workshop by Michelle and learnt quite alot of makeup tips & tricks. It was memorable and fun event.

Another photo taken with Michelle.

Photo taken during the Masterclass, courtesy of Herworld magazine Singapore. I was sitting right next to Wendy aka Xiaxue, a popular blogger from Singapore.

That was pretty much how my week went! It was super fantastic. Don't you feel bored of listening the same thing everytime? Lolz! In fact, if you follow me closely enough for the past 5 months since my first Crystal's Closet episode, I do not only have some great weeks but also  some shitty weeks. But I'm always trying my best to keep myself positive, motivated and optimistic. That spirit eventually changes the bad situation I'm in to a better one. It's hard to explain in details but I believe it's true.

I hope you guys had a great week too and stay positive always.
Love
Crystal

Crystal's Closet: Weekly Wardrobe (Ep16)

Crystal's Closet: Weekly Wardrobe (Ep16)

There are only few days left to wrap up everything for July, not sure about you but I'm already in the mood for celebration. I can't wait for it to end soon seriously. There were a lot of tear, hard work, pain, patience, encouragement, support and breakdown...in July.

Everything, you name it!

It has been so challenging that sometimes I felt like giving up. I couldn't handle it, I couldn't cope with it anymore. But I was wrong. I managed to go through every single challenge and stood still in the end.

Now I feel like I was such a brave captain who successfully sailed my small boat through a vicious storm in the darkness to the beautiful island. Some friends ever asked me "What is your secret of keeping yourself so strong mentally". There is no secret actually, you just need to constantly remind yourself  "I'm strong. It's ok. I can do it! Things will be fine" everyday. Yes! It's a everyday reminder and I've been practicing that for years every time I have any problem. That inner voice will give you incredible strength to overcome anything in your life. Everyone of us will have choices. Some choose to say "No, I can't do it. I'm weak. I'm gonna loose, I'm gonna die" and that's what defines them as "Weakness". Subconsciously, it becomes their habit in dealing with problems. Habits will become characters, attitudes and so on. So, practice the good, positive energy and thinking everyday and let it change your life.

Anyway, let me share with you my last week activity, it was pretty fun week I had. Nothing fancy besides spending time with people that I love and attending some memorable events. I was too busy last Monday and I couldn't have time for outfit photo taking. Sorry guys, gonna jump to Tuesday instead.

I was walking down the street with Mr. Mustache in my favorite chiffon top and skinny pants. Who is "Mr. Mustache"? Oh, he is sitting on my hand lolz. Just kidding. It's actually the gold mustache ring from Accessorize and I love it. Not forget to mention the hair accessories, don't you notice?

Wednesday!
It was my nephew's 1st birthday. Time flies so fast! I still remembered when I first held him in my arms, he was so tiny and light. Look how big he is getting now and how adorable he is! I wish I could stay at home and hug him whole day, squeeze his fat butt and kiss on his cheeks until he gets mad, lolz.

On Wednesday, I was wearing simple and sleek outfit. Ballerina bare back top from River Island and fringe skirt from ZARA. Red accessories to enlighten the look.

Love this skirt! Whenever I walk or turn, the fringes on the skirt create such a big upward movement and it's so fun to watch. I feel like dancing everytime I wear this skirt.

Thursday
Rock the very sexy zip-up dress from H&M or it can be zipped down too. It's such an unique and versatile piece. But somehow, when I wore this skirt, I had the phobia if there is any pervert would pull my zipper down without me knowing it. So I was always on the alert at any guy who passed by or walked behind me, hahahaa. Perhaps I worried too much.

Saturday
It's Singapore Blog Award ceremony day! I was so looking forward to this event for a month and so lucky to have many sponsors for my appearance on that date. Here I'm wearing the beautiful gown sponsored by Zardoze. Make up products by Victoria's Secret, crystal earrings by Swarovski

And this was how I looked last Saturday!

Photos in courtesy of Michael Lloyd.
He was my "personal driver", photographer and guest, lolz. Talk about multi-tasking person.
It was really fun event and I managed to meet up with some bloggers who I used to communicate via Twitter only. They are so friendly, so nice and cool.

I and Andy Lee and his blog Sengkang Babies was also one of the top 10 finalists in "Family Blog"

I and Kevin at Double Image who also the winner of Best Gmarket Shopping Blog. Congratulation! :)

Me, myself and I with my lovely bare back. Photo in courtesy of Andy Lee. I love it!

Though my blog didn't win at this year Blog Award but I'm still very happy and proud to be one of the top 3 most voted blogs during the voting period. That support and love mean a lot to me than any title. Thank you so much for all the sponsors, voters, friends, supporter who have been voting and supporting my blog, you know you will not be disappointed everyday opening this website :) Something new is coming up! I can't promise anything yet but I'm sure it will be exciting.

Talk about my very beautiful and special dress I wore that day, it's fully handmade by Zardoze, a high-end Singapore based brand that will be launched on 31st August. Their products are fully focused on hand crafted embellishments and high quality fabrics. All the details at the back of my dress were handmade too. Can you tell how much hardwork and patience needed? I'm sure there are tons.

According to the company, their type of embellishment work is an art form in itself, inspired the name Zardoze, derived from the royal art form of gold embroidery. Each collection foretells an unique story, individually brought forward by their culturally diverse team of designers. I felt in love with all of their designs when I first looked into their lookbook. Amazing stuffs they have.

Alternately, check'em out at their Website, join them on Facebook for their latest updates, events, and products launch.

That's all about me! Will talk to you again soon in August :D
