Crystal's Closet: How to wear a jumpsuit

Crystal's Closet: How to wear a jumpsuit

Hi everyone,

Today, I'm going to share with you some of my personal styling tips when it comes to the all-in-one outfit. It's none other than the jumpsuit that I'm talking about.

Do you know when did the jumpsuit make an appearance in common and high fashion? It's somewhere around 19080s. Since then, it's been always one of the most favorite outfits of many celebrities whether for casual occasion or red-carpet appearance.

I fell in love with jumpsuit since I was 6 years old and I can still remember that I asked my mom to buy for me many different types of jumpsuit whenever we went shopping. Now, I can't wear it everyday like I used to even though the love for it has never changed. I have to say jumpsuit is such a sophisticated, sexy and picky piece. Many people love it but not everyone can pull it off.

If you are in love with jumpsuit and want to try it on yourself, here are some rules for you

1. Go for All Black.

Black is the safest choice for everyone especially when you try to hide your actual weight and body size, it gives you an instant slimming effect, trust me.

2. Proportion is a key:

With jumpsuit, you can cover your weakness on the body. For instant, if you have beautiful legs but a big tummy (unfortunately), opt for a slouchy top with slim fit legs. Want to add on extra hotness? Plunging neckline would be my recommendation (*same like what I'm wearing here). On the other side, if you have broad shoulder, find the jumpsuit whose pants are wide leg and flowing.

3. Less is More.
Keep everything else simple as jumpsuit is already a statement piece itself. And please don't add too many colors into it. It will not work.

4. Let your waist speak!
If your jumpsuit doesn't have a drawstring midsection, a belt is a MUST to flatter your body figure. Like what I was wearing here is a medium size silver belt and even I was wearing a lose jumpsuit, my waist didn't get lost :D

::Outfit::
Jumpsuit: Oasap (Similar here and here)
Heels: Jessica Simpson
Accessories: Forever21 bracelet-
Alexander McQueen Skull Bracelet
ASOS ring- Forever21 necklace
Sunglasses: RayBan
Belt: ForeverNew

These are my most simple and standard rules to wear the jumpsuit outfit.  After all, if you love wearing it so much but are still reluctant and hesitate to wear,  I would say "Just try it but don't forget to layer the jumpsuit with a blazer to make it look more subtle. It works like wonder!"

I hope you like this fun outfit and please leave me comment, Tweet me or Instagram me a photo of you wearing a jumpsuit, I would love to see how you wear it :)

Last but not least, just in case you don't know, there is a hot FASHION GIVEAWAY ongoing right now in this blog, scroll down and read at the previous entry. Please don't forget to join the giveaway too and share it with your friends.

Thank you so much for reading once again.

{CRYSTAL'S CLOSET}: TURQUOISE SHEER & MOMENT WATCH GIVEAWAY

{CRYSTAL'S CLOSET}: TURQUOISE SHEER & MOMENT WATCH GIVEAWAY

Sponsored post

Hi everyone!

Today, Crystal's Closet episode is proudly sponsored by Moment Watches from Hong Kong. The kind peeps at Moment Watches sent me the beautiful watch of my choice on the day I flew to US. It has been 2 weeks since then and now only I have time to write about it (I did post the photo of the watch on Instagram though).

First and foremost, let me share with you some information about the brand itself:

Moment Watches is a premium brand whose fine range of watch collections offers modern designs technical precision and distinctive aesthetics that tell a meaningful story. Behind each one of their timepieces, there is a story being told. Each story uniquely caters to enhance the wearer's experience and engage the emotions. Each model is painstakingly designed to elicit a positive response, inspiring us to make each moment count. Experiences are lost forever unless we remember them, capture them, savour them, share them. Moment Watches want to contribute to these experiences and enable to tell you to pass them on. Moment Watches makes a wonderful gift that will mark special moment forever.

Out of 20 over designs, this one caught my attention:
Be adventurous. A moment to face your fear.

What is so special about this watch?

The Brazillian novelist Paulo Coelho said, "If you think adventure is dangerous, try routine. It is lethal." Claire knows what it is like to be in a dangerous rut, as shown in this watch design which is Claire's hand drawn illustration of an important moment in her life. The black box signifies her safe routine life, which was governed by fear of stepping out of her comfort zone. Throwing caution to the wind, she picked up her life and pursued her dream: to live in Sydney, Australia. The fear started to melt away into drops of new life, blossoming into a vibrant landscape. So break out of any routine that is stifling your life and watch as new experiences flourish into something beautiful.

And as I was asked to do a styling with this watch, here is what I had come up with:

Turquoise sheer blouse paired with white pants, white bag and of course turquoise colored accessories. If you are talking about Happy, Love Moment, turquoise definitely is one of my recommended colors to you. It's lovely, youthful and fresh.

I purposely chose the turquoise arm-candy to match with the watch and coincidentally, my handbag has similar colored detail too. How gorgeous!

Close up of the arm-swag.

and the beautiful watch on me together with my matching colored necklace and earrings.

Up-close and personal shot of the watch to satisfy your thirst. :D

 Isn't it beautiful?

Handbag: Forever New (old)

There is one thing special about this watch that makes me surprised is It glows in the dark. How awesome is that? You just have to get one for yourself to experience it. How to get it?

Crystal's Closet: Horizontal Striped Flounced Skirt

Crystal's Closet: Horizontal Striped Flounced Skirt

Hi everyone,

Hope you guys had a great week so far. It has been terribly busy weeks for me after I came back from US to catch up with many pending emails, blog entries, client's enquiries and so on...

Today outfit post is about the outfit I wore on Thursday last week -_-. I know I'm supposed to write about today (Tuesday) outfit instead, that shows how far I am from blogging, omg!

Anyway, let's take a look at what I have for you guys today: striped flounced skirt.

Not very often you will see such a cute striped piece like that. It fits at the top and flares out at the bottom to create more volume and sweetness. Most of the time, what you see in store are: striped pencil skirts or striped circle skirts, but striped flounced skirts are rare. That's the reason why when I first saw this skirt, I just had to take it home.

To make it more appropriate for work, I paired up the skirt with the chiffon blouse and layered a blazer on top. Blazer is always the best rescuer for everything.

And that's how it turned out. :D

Arm-candy is  a MUST to me now and I always feel empty whenever I step out with a bare hands. It's just weird! :D

That's what I have for today. If you love striped skirt, please don't hesitate to buy and try this look. Simply click onto the below link to the respective website or the similar items I have found for you.

Crystal's Closet: Color-blocking with peplum orange.

Hi everyone,

Color-blocking trend is back...on my blog! I believe this trend will never be faded away no matter what year we live in. As Summer is just around the corner, it IS a perfect excuse to rock your colorful outfit. I can't wait to see more vibrant colors on the street this year.

Besides, I wanted to brighten up myself (*my mood to be exact), so I decided to dress up more lively. Here is what I wore on Monday when I came back to work from my holiday.

Basic work shirt with peplum skirt.

Love how the royal blue and orange compliments each other.

As these 2 colors are already very loud, I decided to keep the accessories very minimal and simple.

Layered gold necklaces.

with my favorite, motivating arm-candy.

and skull earrings to add little edgy to this look.

 ::Outfit::
Shirt: G2000 (Similar here)
Skirt: Alice & Olivia (old) (Similar here)
Heels: Charles & Keith (old)
Necklace: Forever21
Earrings: ASOS (Similar here)
Bracelet: Lovisa (old) (Similar here)
Watch: Swarovski

That's all I have for today. I hope you like the outfit and hope it inspires you enough to try something new (if you have never worn color-blocked outfit before).

Before ending this entry, I just wanted to share with you a great news. I woke up this morning to a wonderful email telling me that I'm featured on Huffingtonpost.com. You can read the article HERE!  It's a digital newspaper in United States that features everything about fashion, beauty, politic, economy, etc...What a honor to have my outfit featured on their page! When I first started writing about Fashion, I had a dream that one day, I would be featured in some fashion websites. Believe it or not? It happened and I'm slowly getting there!

So my dear friends out there, please don't stop dreaming because one day your dream can come true! :)

Thank you so much for reading and supporting my blog once again.
Love,

CELINE LO'S CREATION (PART 2)

CELINE LO'S CREATION (PART 2)

Sponsored post

Hi everyone,

As some of you already knew, most of my nail arts designs are done by Celine Lo's Creation. Read my first blog entry about their service here.
Thank to them, for the past 1 year, I've never had to leave my nails "naked" every time I go out for events, party, or show. The funny thing is: my nails always have people's attention first before I do simply because every conversation starts with a handshake. When people try to shake my hand, they can't help but look at my bling bling nails.

To be honest, I'm a picky person and I don't accept ANY sponsorship just because it's FREE. I would rather pay money to get what I love than have it for free and I hate it afterward. So after 6 months being their customer, I finally started the sponsorship with Celine Lo's Creations with joy.

Why do I love their service so much?

Look at their works and you'll know why. These are all the nail art designs they did for me past 5 months.

From Christmas nail art design

 to New Year

to Chinese New Year nail art

and Nail art for Spring/ Summer

Celine is doing her thang...

All these beautiful seasonal creations were done by Celine. She is such a creative and talented woman. Everytime I went to her, I just roughly told her what I wanted (*sometimes, I didn't even know what I wanted) and she just created something that went beyond my expectation. The purple nail arts above is an example.

What do you think about my nails? Do you want to try at least once? Here is the sweet treat especially for you, my lovely blog readers.

QUOTE "CRYSTAL88" to enjoy full set hard/soft gel manicure with full art (like what I'm having here) at only S$88 (Normal price is S$130- S$150). Promotion is valid til 25th May 2013.

I'm not over-complimenting them but even with their normal price, Celine's gelish nail art price is still so much lower than other nail salons. At least, she didn't charge you on every single crystal on your nail like other salons do.

HURRY UP! This is one of the best offer that you don't want to miss. SMS 9181 2799 and quote "Crystal88" when making an appointment.

There are so many other beautiful designs she created, simple go to her Facebook page, follow her on Instagram and check out the Website for daily nail art update. I'm sure you can find some designs for yourself.

Good luck!
Love,
Crystal
