MY FIRST TRIP TO BALI (Day 3 & Day 4)

MY FIRST TRIP TO BALI (Day 3 & Day 4)

Part 1 of my trip to Bali is HERE

We started our day 3 as early as day 2 at 7.30am and there were only 2 places we wanted to visit:

1. Ubud Tour for Elephant Riding

First thing first, group photo before we were splited into 2 groups.

From far left: Nicole, Ching Ching, Camile, Jacqueline and me.

That was my outfit of the day: Bikini underneath, beach dress & cowboy hat with sunnies. I know, the cowboy hat didn't seem to match the beach-y theme but it protected my skin from sunburn.

Ching Ching & I.

Carmen wanted to have a photo with me too.

Getting ready! Nicole was sharing the seat with me.  We were struggling right here as the elephant kept moving and the seat was too small for 2 persons (even though we are petit human being). It was scary at first.

but once we settled down, it seemed cool and fun.

Even I could say "Cheese" to the camera

Nicole was so courage that she sat on the elephant's neck without any support. If I was her, I would have to hold and pull the elephant's ears all journey long, lolz.

Done with elephant riding. We en routed to the next long awaited destination.

This was also the last destination that would make our Bali trip complete- Dreamland beach. This was the only place that I was so looking forward to visit as I heard so much about how beautiful Bali beaches are, I wanted to witness it for real. And here I was, doing my suntanning at Dreamland beach.

Us: Carmen, Ching Ching, Nicole and me (from left)

The beach is so beautiful as its name. How could I say no to a photoshoot

Victoria's Secret inspired poses, lolz

Enough for modeling shots yet? Now it's fun time with the girls.

Carmen, Camile, Ching Ching, Crystal. The Cs love bikini

Jump shot.

Yoga shot.

and my favorite dance shot by the beach in sunset. I've been wanting to do this for so long.

At this point, my Bali trip was complete. I was so happy and satisfied because I accomplished what I wanted to do.

At night, we went back to Potato Head for pool party and drinking. It was last night we were in Bali, it's time to get drunk and enjoyed ourself.

Jacqueline, Nicole, Carmen & James.

Carmen, James, Fiona and me. I think we were busy to take photos more than we drank.

Fiona, me, Ching Ching & Camile.

Group shot of us: The happy people.
After drinking, some went for foot massage, some went out, I went back hotel room to sleep. :D

Last day before leaving to airport, I managed to find sometimes to shop for gifts and souvenirs.
Navy blue rompers with pink wedges walking along the free market. Things are really cheap there but you have to know how to bargain. I usually bargained at 1/3 of their price, when they refused to give, I just pretended to walk away and they then called me back, lolz. Don't say I'm Cheapo, I'm just good at it.

The shopping street is so long that it leads me all the way to another beautiful beach. Not much time left, I & Carmen only took a chair, sat down and enjoyed some drinks.

And Oh, I got my very first temporarily tattoo right here for only S$3. Initially, the guy quoted me for S$30 and I paid $3 only. I thought with such low price, he would leave me alone. But No, he was so persistent for God's sake, stood there for more than 20 minutes and tried to bargain with me. After his numerous attempts, I still won. Hahahhaa!

Here, the $3 tattoo. It was my very first time to have ink on my body so I was quite excited to show it to people.

That was also the last thing I did in Bali.
Few hours later, we were already at the airport ready to fly home.

Overall, Bali is such a memorable and beautiful place. The food is nice, shopping is relatively cheap there compares to one in Singapore (definitely, I know). We enjoyed ourself so much even it was tiring for the first 2 days.

We also had some bad experiences there too. My friend went to money changer to exchange Singapore dollars to Ruppiah and somehow she got cheated by the couple at the shop even though she counted her exchanged money thrice. So please remember, if you happen to visit Bali and need to go to money changer: Don't ever let them count your money and hand it to you. You must always be the last one who counts

For myself, I wasn't cheated. I overly paid the taxi-driver 10 times the price that it was supposed to be. I wasn't familiar with the currency as there were too many zeros on their notes and I mis-read the 25,000 ruppiah as 250,000 ruppiah instead. I was so nice that I even gave the taxi-driver tips, wtf. The driver took the money, counted but didn't even say a word to me. He just drove off quickly. An hour later only I realized that I did "charity" work. Oh Well! Lesson learned.

Other than that, Bali is fine and definitely re-visited destination.

Have you travelled to Bali before?  What do you think about this place? What is your worst and best memory there? Please share with me at the comment section below so that we could learn from each other's experiences

I hope you enjoy the blog entry, the photos, the journey I shared with you and sorry for taking so long. Will talk to you more in the next entry.
Something exciting coming up! Stay tuned!
Love,
Crystal

Crystal's Closet: Turquoise highlight.

Crystal's Closet: Turquoise highlight.

 Hi everyone,
The reason for me to come up with the turquoise highlight for today outfit is from...my new color-blocking wedges. I know right, fashion inspiration is now in everywhere. If you follow my previous outfit of the day, you probably already know that I love playing with colors and details in my outfit.

Two days ago, I went to shop and brought this pair of wedges home. As usual, I wanted to wear it immediately the next day itself but I had to wait as I had another new pair of wedges (the orange ones which you already saw at the blog entry below) waiting for me. So my lovely color-blocking wedges here had no choice but to queue up for its turn.

Today it took me 15 minutes standing in front of my wardrobe, thinking about what to wear. Do you girls ever have this problem too?

At last, I got my ideal outfit pairing. Using the turquoise platform as main color highlight, I accessorized accordingly to pull the attention into this lovely color. Turquoise jewelry set, turquoise arm-candy matched with turquoise platform wedges. White shirt with white belt and bag to balance out the outfit and to neutralize all the colors. Navy suede skirt matched with navy strap on wedges. Everything came in pair and that's how I wanted them to be.

I hope you enjoy looking at my outfit photos as much as I love creating them. I don't know what outfit I will be wearing tomorrow as I wanted to make it spontaneously, thus I can't reveal anything just yet. How about you come back this blog tomorrow and find out yourself? ;)

Thank you so much for reading!
Love,
Crystal

Crystal's Closet: Bright and Bold.

Crystal's Closet: Bright and Bold.

Hi everyone,
Happy brand new week to you!

There is one thing I always like to do on Monday is to wear something really bright and bold. Why? There is a reason for it. I'm not sure about you but I believe in such thing called Chromotherapy in our daily life.

I like to apply color therapy especially when it comes to fashion  i.e what color will make me feel relaxed, which color gives me more energy, motivation and what color will make me feel moody etc... As such, I always wear bright and vibrant color on Monday.

Very often you hear many people say "Blue Monday" when they feel lazy, demotivated, stressful, moody on the first day of the week after a long weekend. I'm not an exception. I do feel blue sometimes, and that's why I like to wear red, fuchsia, orange...to make myself more energetic, optimistic and motivated. And realistically, those warm colors do make an impact on how I feel in a day. Whenever I look at myself into the mirror, I see something bright, vibrant, fun on me. It gives me the positiveness and washes all the negativeness away...Today outfit is an example:

Orange bodycon dress, orange pointy-toe wedges, orange bag. Don't you feel fun looking at those bright colors on the street?

Orange accessories with some black details on dress to neutral my outfit so that it won't go "overflow"

Bodycon dress: Crystal's Closet (Similar here)
Accessories: Forever21 bangle - Swarovski watch - Forever21 ring (Similar here)

Have you ever applied any color therapy in your outfit? What color do you have most in your closet? If you have too much black, grey, brown, olive, etc...time to get some sunshine colors to brighten up your  closet. If you are not used to vibrant colors just yet, take one color at a time and pair it up with neutral colors like black, white, beige until you are completely comfortable. Let's see if you feel any difference by then. *wink*

And Oh, don't forget to share with me what is your experiment here. Good things meant to be shared.
Stay sexy and good Luck!
Love,
Crystal

Crystal's Closet: Pastel and Floral

Crystal's Closet: Pastel and Floral

Hi everyone!

Believe it or not, I'm actually writing this blog entry using my iPad and while I'm in the car moving around. This is so tedious but I have no choice as I won't be using my Laptop for the next 3 days. I'm on my way to Shangri La Hotel right now. Hope everyone has a great weekend too.

Below are some quick shots for my today outfit, taken when I was waiting for my client.

Today outfit is all about pastel colors (white, light pink, light turquoise). They are so sweet and girly. Recently I'm opt to vibrant and bold colors but I must say pastel colors are always my favorite too. They just make you feel so relaxing and refreshing. But somehow, very seldom you see me in pastel outfits, I know. I can't explain. Anyway, today you did.

Here are what I wear today.

Crystal's Closet: Fun layering!

Crystal's Closet: Fun layering!

 Hi everyone!

Finally, it's Friday! I'm so looking forward to this weekend as I will be spending my 3 days in the beautiful Shangri La- beachfront resort hotel in Sentosa. The hotel is magnificent with their own private beach, promising a great scenery for my photo taking. I can't wait and I promise to take lot of photos to share with you guys. :D

Talk about my today outfit, I was trying to be creative in layering and mixing these 2 pieces:

Burgundy lace dress with oxblood leather skirt.

And this is what I got:

As the lace dress is pretty short, I decided to wear the oxblood leather skirt underneath to give the outfit more length and volume. I had to attend few meetings today, so I had to wear at least semi-formal and that's where the black blazer came in.

Vintage inspired earrings happened to be in matching color with the dress

Beaded bangle in deep red- burgundy for lil extra fanciness.

This is perfect COMBO outfit. You can wear it to work (with the blazer on) or even to a party (with a blazer off) and you are ready to rock and roll.

Love the ribbon zipper.

And now, I'm a party girl.

Stop looking at my back, I knew it ;). *just kidding*

It's so fun to mixing and layering your outfit. You'll be surprised to know that certain outfit can be worn in many different ways. So be creative with your closet! What is your favorite outfit pairing/ layering? Share with me at the comment section below.

Thank you for reading. I might not be blogging on Friday or Saturday but I'll surely update my outfit post on Instagram or Lookbook.nu, so please follow me there if you haven't done so.

Talk to you again soon.
Love,
Crystal

I had really fun time shooting at Orchard Road with my girls today. The most challenging part was when we had to wait for everyone passed by and the road was clear. It's not because I was shy or worried if anyone looking at me, it's because we couldn't get a clear background to make the outfit stand out (You'll know what I mean later). And so, we had to stop any moment there was any passerby.

At last, we managed to capture some good shots here and it took us only 15 minutes to finish. I'm so pleased!

Tired of my jeans & shirt outfit yet after 3 days? Here is a sweet change for you.

I decided to wear skirt today and tulip skirt was my pick as this is one of my favorite styles besides pencil and peplum skirt. Tulip skirt is perhaps one of the most wearable pieces for anyone, any body type, size and shape. It's like an up-side-down version of its namesake. If you have pear body shape, this is an ideal skirt type for you. I love how the material cinches the waistline, relaxes around the buttocks and tapers to hug the legs at the hemline. And whenever I feel like being lazy and still appearing girl at the same time, I'll grab the tulip skirt.  This is how I wore my favorite printed tulip skirt today.

Floral printed tulip skirt with floral printed shirt. Print on print!

Myself with an empty road.

And with many people walking by. The photo looks so busy huh?
Now you know what I meant by taking photo with clear background is always better :D.

Applying my modeling poses into fashion ootd shoot is not a hard thing, don't you think?

::Outfit::
Shirt: Brooks Brother
Skirt: ZARA (similar here)
Suede pumps: Milanoo
Accessories: Swarovski watch (similar here) - bracelet (similar here

That's about all. What did you wear today? What is your favorite skirt type? Please send me the link of your ootd at the comment section below, I love viewing them and reading your feedback.
Thank you very much for reading again. Now, I need to think of what to wear tomorrow! :D
Good night to me, good morning to you!

Crystal
