{REVIEW}: NATURE'S SPA AROMATHERAPY PRODUCTS

Are you (just like me) tired of all the commercial soaps that contain a large amount of chemicals that we can hardly remember all their names? Do you concern about you and your family health, skin problems might cause by those soaps especially when you have sensitive skin? If the answers are YES, then I suggest you should spend time reading this blog entry because I’m about to share with you about something GREAT!

Introducing to you, Nature's Spa skincare products brought to you by Origo Creation and yours truly on this blog.

Nature's Spa is the skincare brand manufactured in the Philippines, using the finest ingredients from nature aiming to bring you the best natural products that are safe for both baby and adult's sensitive skin.

I visited Origo Creation store last month in Chinatown point and brought a bunch of products back home to try out.

Aromatherapy soaps, aromatherapy diffuser and the therapy soap.

There were so many different types of soaps displayed in the store, and I really had a hard time picking the one that I liked most. Citrus, Chamomile, Jasmine, Lavender, Peppermint, Acne, Sports Bar for Men, Sports Bar for Women, Shampoo Bar, Shea Butter, Seaweed Slimming, Skin Lightening, AHA, Green Tea, Lemongrass, Papaya, Coconut Oil, Baby. Knowing myself that I'm not very adventurous when it comes to new fragrances, I always end up going back to the scent that I'm familiar with. At last, I chose four different aromatherapy soaps: Green tea, papaya, lavender and lemongrass soaps and one aroma diffuser.
Now, are you ready for some honest reviews from me?

First, let's talk about some aromatherapy soaps!

While Green tea and Lavender soap have a calm and soothing effect,  Lemongrass is meant to soften and moisturize your skin, and Papaya soap helps to control premature aging skin. Chamomile and peppermint work perfectly well for those who have red and itchy skin as they instantly soothe and calm the skin.

I love the fact that these fine handcrafted soaps made from the old-fashioned way from all the natural ingredients like coconut oil, olive oil, sodium hydroxide, water essential oils, oat meals, TEDTA and BHT. It reminds me of my childhood seeing my grandmother making all these soaps for us to use. The natural soaps have become part of my life and can't be replaced easily by any expensive shower gels in the market. Unlike the commercial soap bars, these soap bars stay as one piece even after a few washes. They don’t turn yucky or “melt”.

I've been using all the soaps for the past month, and I couldn't find anything to complain about.  I love how the soaps make my skin so moisturized, so soft, clean and so refreshing. It does not leave any sticky feeling on my skin and the smells last for hours.

To me, bath time is an important time in a day. That's when I can have peaceful time for myself to relax and relief tension. It's my own private space to take some time to unwind and recharge. That explains why I purposely chose Lavender soap to reduce anxiety, stress, tension and Lemongrass with healing agents for my everyday need.

Taking a bath can never be so much fun like that.

Besides the aromatherapy soaps, I was also given a special Therapy Soap "No Pain" to try out as I was telling to Origo Creation how painful my neck and shoulders are recently. It was caused by many heavy stuff that I have to carry when I'm out and about. The staff at Origo Creation then helped to apply a small amount onto my neck and shoulder area. I might sound a bit exaggerating, but I couldn't find any other word more appropriate than MAGICAL.
This No Pain product did really stop my pain immediately 10 minutes after it's applied. No joke! The product with ginger and peppermint essential oils are excellent for shoulder ache, joint paints, (my real experience) as well as muscle cramps, stomach ache, nasal congestion, and headache. This is definitely my recommended product at Origo Creation. A MUST HAVE product for an emergency.

It will be a big mistake if we do not mention about aroma diffuser when talking about aromatherapy products. Like aromatherapy soaps, there are many different fragrances offered in the store that make it so difficult for buyers to control their budget. I just wanted to bring all of them home. In fact, the aroma diffuser is giving my room such a refreshing smell right now when I'm writing this blog entry. :D

Nothing beats coming home to a wonderful, refreshing, organic smell from every corner in the house; that's the reason why I always love buying many reed diffusers to use at home. Nature’s Spa has five variants all together: Believe, Wisdom, Faith, Eden, and Chosen. Nature’s Spa reed diffusers last for quite a long while, even more than a month, comparing to the expensive ones in the market. If your room is big, place five sticks at one time. For a smaller room, three reeds would be good enough. Don’t forget to change the reeds so that the diffuser can last even longer.

{CRYSTAL'S CLOSET}: GLAM NIGHT

Leaving the ZALORA x River Island launch party, I and my girl- Carmen decided to spend the rest of our evening chilling at the most happening place in Singapore: Clarke Quay. We drank, talked to people, played pool and watched the live-band performance. It was a super fun girls' night out indeed.

These outfit photos were taken as spontaneously as how we ended up partying in Clarke Quay that night. I had planned to look my best in the cropped top, pencil skirt, sky high heels and red lipstick to attend the fashion event only as I thought I would be exhausted by the time the event ended. I didn't expect walking along the river heading toward Clarke Quay with upbeat music and beautiful scenery could release my exhaustion so quickly. Besides, seeing the colorful lighting along the river and knowing that it could potentially make a perfect backdrop, I couldn't help but stop for a quick photo shoot. These happened to be the best outfit photos of mine at the right time in the right place.

And I thought GLAMOUR would be the right word to sum it all up what I wanted to share with you.

{EVENT}: ZALORA X RIVER ISLAND PARTY

Celebrating the return of River Island to Singapore and the brand’s first entry into Hong Kong and Malaysia, the ZALORA x River Island launch party was most aptly an electrifying, well-watered night on Friday 13th 2013. The night started on a high note at MINI Habitat, with the full River Island shop-in-shop finally going live at http://www.zalora.sg/women/river-island-singapore/- A milestone moment that unmistakably signals the faith that international brands are starting to show in South- East Asia's online fashion retail scene.

True to ZALORA's tech-savvy spirit, guests were invited to shop the collection on their mobile devices via Augmented Reality walls. By scanning images of River Island items on the wall through their Aurasma app, guests caught a glimpse of the faces behind ZALORA, captured in candid videos of ZALORA employees modeling River Island products, before being brought onto the River Island virtual shop-in-shop. Express at- event deliver was also offered, where guests could choose to have their orders sent straight to them at the MINI Cooper showroom at the end of the night. Aside from enjoying the night's shopping and social elements, guests also indulged in fringe activities such as hair make-overs by Kimage, diamond-dust nail polish manicures by Etoile NYC, and a pop-up cafe by Penny University, before kickstarting their weekend by partying the night away at the launch's afterparty at Kyo.

Here are some photos of the event that night.

{COLLABORATION}: DOROTHY PERKINS STYLE ESSENTIALS

One of the best things about being a Fashion Blogger is when your favorite brand contacts you to collaborate. I still remember exactly how I felt when I first received an email from Dorothy Perkins four months ago to promote for their Spring/ Summer collection on my blog. You can read my first blog entry "Dress-Up with Dorothy Perkins" again. I still feel like it was just yesterday.

While the excitement is still in the air, here comes the second collaboration between Dorothy Perkins and CrystalPhuong to promote for their Fall/ Winter collection: Style Essentials. Style Essentials is the latest Dorothy Perkins's capsule collection consisting of sophisticated yet easy-to-wear designs that take women from day to night, work to party in style.

There are 10 different pieces all together and they are super versatile and affordable. I love all of them but when it comes to the only one favorite choice, I've fell head-over-heels in love with this faux fur jacket.

This winter staple reminds me how much I miss the winter in Vietnam and I used to take it for granted. It's a chic and warm outfit that makes you look so trendy and still feel like you are still in the blanket whenever you need to go out or run an errand.

I wish Singapore weather could be cold enough to let me wear this stylish and cool outfit to go out. Unfortunately, Singapore weather is hot all year round and I could only wear this faux fur jacket in my office at 20degree Celsius. If you need to travel to somewhere really cold, pair this faux fur jacket with jeans, sweater and boots, add in some chic accessories (hat, sunglasses, scarf) and you are set.

Of all Fall/ Winter wardrobe staples, faux fur jacket is a must-have item in your closet. If you haven't had one, Dorothy Perkins Style Essentials collection is now available to purchase online and in store. For Singapore fans, please visit their website HERE, follow their Facebook, Instagram and Twitter for more updates.

{CRYSTAL'S CLOSET}: THE TULLE PRINCESS

When I was a little girl, my mom always loved dressing me up with many colorful tulle skirts and tiara. She made me feel like I was a real princess all the time. Since then, tulle skirts have become not only typical type of cloths to me but also a sweet memory reminds me so much of my childhood. Sad to say, I haven't been able to wear this whimsical ballerinas style for years. Only after watching Sex and the City, seeing Carrie Bradshaw in a tulle skirt, I was struck by the feeling how much I missed wearing this adorable skirt.

Last week, I decided to bring my childhood moment come to life and to feel like being a princess once again.

You would be surprised to know that this tulle tube dress I was wearing here is actually a midi-skirt. I didn't like how the midi-skirt looked on me so I decided to be creative by wearing it as tube dress and layering with a leather jacket on top. Forget about the misconception that tulle skirts are only for juvenile, this total grown-up outfit proved us that tulle skirts can be worn by many young, independent and strong women.

This look is so appropriate for a special event, night out but if you want to wear for a casual day out, pair the tulle skirt with sweater, cardigan or even some cool graphic T-shirts etc...

Since tulle skirt is such a soft, romantic and sweet staple,  I wanted to contrast the femininity of the skirt with tougher pieces like #gladiator sandals, leather jacket and statement necklace.

Statement necklace does not only give the outfit the entire finished touch but also balances out the sweetness of the tulle dress-skirt.

What do you think about this cute girly skirt? Think you've got your own style? Share with me in the comment section below. Now, it's time to shop:
