BIRTHDAY CELEBRATION WITH RADISSON BLU PLAZA PHUKET

BIRTHDAY CELEBRATION WITH RADISSON BLU PLAZA PHUKET

Birthday celebration at Radisson Blu Plaza Phuket Resort

It was quite a surreal moment for me to celebrate my birthday with one of the best hotels in Phuket last month: Radisson Blu Plaza Phuket Resort. As mentioned before, my first visit to Radisson Blu Plaza Phuket was in April this year and it was a wonderful experience. I chose to spend my birthday at Radisson Blu Plaza Phuket because I knew I would be in good hands. But I didn't expect it to be better than the first time. A birthday cake prepared upon my arrival. A deluxe room with sea view and a private pool. A delicious birthday dinner at their fine dining restaurant. All of these were great surprises that the hotel offered.

The rooms are spacious, the food is delicious, the scenery is breathtaking. Besides the two larger than life swimming pools, we have a whole private beach to ourselves, by the way. Most importantly, the staff are extremely friendly and helpful. They always make me feel like home. Believe it or not, after 31 years, this was the first time I spent my birthday oversea. As much as I'd love to be surrounded by many good friends on my special day, I have to admit that having some quiet time with my mysterious man in a private beach resort, listening to him singing "Happy Birthday" to me was the most wonderful celebration by far. Radisson Blu Phuket made it even more memorable for both of us.

If you ask me for an advice on "How to surprise girlfriend on her birthday?", my answer would always be "Bring her to Radisson Blu Plaza Phuket".

Thank you so much, Radisson Blu Plaza Phuket for spoiling me!

{CRYSTAL'S CLOSET}: FABULOUS 30

{CRYSTAL'S CLOSET}: FABULOUS 30

Two weeks ago, I celebrated my birthday with a few groups of people that I love. It was the 30th birthday, just in case you are wondering. Whoever searched on Google "Crystal Phuong age" a couple of days ago, you have your answer *smile*. (I check my Google Analytic everyday, and I'm amazed at what people are searching on the internet, every time).

Anyway, I've officially joined the Club 30!

I used to be scared of thinking about number 30, realizing that I've gone through one third of a human's life, and knowing I haven't achieved as much as I wanted to. Women at the age of 30 are deemed old, by default, in my country, and I grew up with that thinking in my head for 20 good years. I should have at least 2 kids by the time I was 30, like many other women in Vietnam. Living abroad for a long time gives me the opportunity to look at things from very different perspectives.

I think and strongly believe that Women at the age of 30 are not old. In fact, I've never felt so young, so energetic, so excited about everything. I've gone through enough pains to realize the value of happiness. Every moment that I'm upset, I'll lose a second of happiness. I've learned many lessons from my  mistakes and gained many experiences from my failures. I do things with purpose, plan the future accordingly, and improve myself every single day. When I was 20, my mood often changed like the Fall weather: chilling in the morning, hot in the afternoon, and cold in the evening. I struggled to find out about who I am, and who I want to be. Right now, at 30 years old, I have all the answers I need (pretty much). I don't feel upset for no reason, and be happy all of sudden. Everything happens for a reason.

I love with all my heart, but never forget to bring my brain with me when it comes to relationships. I'm responsible for myself and for others. All of that makes me appreciate the number 30 even more. It gives me the strength, the knowledge, and the experience to conquer the world.

On another note, I'd like to dedicate this blog post to my friends, my sisters, and you, who always think that you are old at the age of 30. You are not. I received this sweet little message from a birthday card: "Remember, it's not how old you are, but how young you feel. Age is just a number". Now, I'm sharing it with you!

Happy fabulous 30!

Some photos from my birthday celebrations 2 weeks ago. I had not only one, but 4 celebrations in total. First celebration was with my best team.

and Hong- the best manager I've ever had. Can't imagine how my life would be without him. I love this guy so much, and he is not even my boyfriend. Strange!

Delicious Japanese lunch with my good friend @donrichmond, who never fails to bring me to nice places to eat. But then, he always makes me laugh so hard that I can't eat anything. #notcomplaining

Third celebration with my 3 angels, who used to be in CrystalPhuong's team. From left to right: Hong, Alicia, Faith and Sherlene.

Fourth celebration was the most romantic and mysterious dinner, I've ever had.  Everything was kept as a secret until the last minute, including the birthday gift. I wasn't worried as I knew Mr. Right would never disappoint me. I was right. It was the lovely candle light dinner (just how I like it) with delicious food, nice ambience, and perfect company. How about the birthday gift? It's the most thoughtful gift that I've ever received. A 3D version of myself in Crystal frame that glows in the dark. It's insanely beautiful, truly one of a kind and totally Crystal.

Thank you so much everyone for the birthday messages, your love and support! You have no idea how much they mean to me.
Have you passed your 30th birthday yet? How did or do you feel about turning30?

{BIRTHDAY}: THE 29TH CELEBRATION.

{BIRTHDAY}: THE 29TH CELEBRATION.

My 29th birthday celebration happened a month ago and now only I have time to write about it. I was thinking whether I should publish this blog entry as the 29th birthday didn't seem to be exciting enough to me to talk about it. For some reasons, I didn't feel like celebrating when my birthday was near despite many friends kept asking me what would I be doing on my birthday. I had no idea. Perhaps, the thought "this is going to be the last year of my 20's" that scared me off. I'm not going to lie, I'm afraid of getting old. I want to be forever 21 as I still have many things I want to achieve before I'm 30 years old. While I was so inattentive and uninterested in celebrating my birthday, my friends seemed to be more excited about it.

I received many birthday cards with personal messages on them and I read every single messages twice just because I loved them so much. No matter how fast technology is evolving, how many new iPhone, Android phones are invented in the market, NOTHING could replace a handwriting email/ messages with love. I'm old-school like that.

Just a sweet reminder to all of us: It's not how old we are, it's how young we feel. I always say this to my friends whenever I hear them complaining about how old they think they are getting. Never I thought one day, somebody gave me this card and reminded me what I used to tell other people. Simple yet true!

You know you are loved when you receive gifts from friends on your birthday. I received more gifts than I expected. Some are very practical, thoughtful and useful which put a big smile on my face.

Besides the gifts, many birthday dinners, surprised cakes and flower were arranged for me. What can I ask for more?
From the birthday cake at work,

to the lovely surprised cake at home. This was so sweet!

Birthday dinner with the amazing team that I've been working so closely with. These wonder women and a handsome man make my everyday at work become less stressful and more fun.

Unlike my 27th and 28th birthday with lot of drinking, partying and morning-hangovers, the 29th birthday was quieter and mellower. I'm approaching the stage where I would prefer sitting down with someone special to have dinner, chilling out with my good friends to talk about nonsense stuffs, listening to nice music while enjoying my favorite cocktail. Nothing matters!

Not forget to mention the sweet birthday wishes on my Facebook, Instagram sent by my friends and fans, you made the beginning of my 29 years old much more special. I'm so grateful for having so much love and care from people around me and that's the greatest gift to me.

Thank you so much for being a part of my journey and thank you for loving and reading this blog!

28th BIRTHDAY IN STYLE

28th BIRTHDAY IN STYLE

I was so busy that I almost forgot to blog about this. The most important day in a year to me: MY BIRTHDAY, which was more than a month ago.

Last year, I had the most memorable and meaningful birthday celebration ever as my parents were able to celebrate with me in Singapore. After ten years of living far away from my family, this simplest thing is sometimes the most precious thing to me, and somehow I forgot about it.

This year, I wanted to fly my parents to Singapore to celebrate with me, booked a yacht to party with my group of close friends and my parents. In the end, nothing happened as I was so uncertain whether I would want to do anything on my birthday. I was in the roller-coaster mood, happy & unhappy kind of mode. And I let it passed as if it was like many other normal days.

But when I didn't do anything to celebrate my birthday, people DID IT for me. And that's when you know you are loved, cared by many people around you. I felt extremely happy and blessed!

Thank you so much everyone whom I'm going to call you by name here. You guys are amazing, and I'm so thankful for your Love, Care, and Support. I really am!

Thank you for the countless Facebook messages, emails, Twitter messages on all the social network sites from my friends and fans. They are almost up to thousand of them, and It took me days to reply each and every one of you. I love reading those messages; they make my day!

Thank to people who bought me lunches, dinners even before and after my birthday. It wasn't my expectation, but that's really sweet of you! :)

Now, let's me take you to my birthday celebrations arranged by these amazing people:

Friday 2nd November, three days before my actual birthday, my friends took me to one of the beautiful Chinese restaurants at Harbourfront for a group dinner. There were so many foods on the table: prawn, fish, shark fin, pork, beef, chicken that we didn't know what to eat. I ate so much that I could barely walk after.

We ate, we talked, we laughed, we took photos. It was a fun night.

Kris, Hong and Me.

Camile and Kris with their prawn competition "Whose is bigger?" :D. Looks like Camille's prawn won.

A group photo of us! Standing row from left: Carmen, Hong, me & Kris.
Sitting row: Alicia, Xiang Yin, Sara, Camile, Nicole.

Thank you guys so much for the love, presents and laughter. I love you guys very much!

Also, very coincidentally, my sponsor gave me this sweet gift exactly on my birthday. A COACH bag sponsored by Warmth Luxury Collection.

Another surprised gift from FANCL came to office in the morning with a personal message from BrandStory. Thank you so much! I love FANCL products very much now not because of all these stuffs because their products are really good for my skin. My skin is combination skin type in case you are wondering. I'll blog about it later when I have more time, I promise!

This HUGE soft bear was delivered to the office

together with this bouquet of flowers.

Flood of gifts, flowers, birthday card on my working desk.

Photo taking time with everyone....

With Eddie Chua- my silent Blog reader, Twitter follower, fan, and friends.

With Carmen- my crazy fan and PA.

With Hong, love him! He is the best manager I've had.

with Lily, soon to be my office roommate.

With Yong, my big boss and my great supporter too.

with Jacqueline, my shopping buddy.

With my cute little girl Nicole.

With Camille whose age and horoscope are same with mine

Hopefully, wishes will come true next year :)

With Carmen! She bought me a rose bouquet too, and she was trying to hide it at her back because she was so afraid that I would be able to see what it was.

Alicia, Nicole & me. Loving these girls very much!

Finished cake cutting and group celebration, I went to have another little private candlelight dinner with the boyfriend. He arranged all these! Booked a private dining room at Absinthe, our favorite French restaurant.

We both had very yummy Wagyu steak for dinner.

and I had special Happy birthday fruit platter for dessert.

When it comes to present, I feel like I'm a small kid no matter how old I will be. I love receiving gifts regardless big or small, cheap or expensive. Sometimes, just a personal postcard can also make me happy. Like many other years, I never expected any present from anyone. Even when Mike asked me "What do you want for your birthday?", I had no idea what I want, and I kept giving him a vague answer "Anything. I don't know". But I think he did a good job in the end because I loved everything he got for me.

A teddy bear.

A rose bouquet sent to the office.

And a beautiful Swarovski watch. I love Swarovski watches.

A jewelry holder from Swarovski too :D

And here are some birthday presents from my friends.

Sweet, personal and lovely! Thank you to all of you.

A cup cap in pink from Nicole. Very practical and sweet especial when it's in pink, I double love it.

I'm a Miss Popular.

GUESS necklace brought from New York by Amber.

Earrings from Accessorize. Looks like my friends know my style well!

Body care set picked by Alicia.

Special wristband with my name engraved on it from Camille. I love it!

Sara's present to me and her personal message.

And lastly, another beautiful closeup shot of my Swarovski watch. How beautiful!

Thank you very much to everyone who loves and cares about me. I'm very grateful to all the amazing people in my life. We come from many different parts of the world, walk from all different parts of life but somehow at some points, I'm lucky to meet all of you, and we become friends, brothers, sister.

Not forget to mention my wonderful fans, blog readers, followers or even my haters. You guys are my true motivation every day. And I hope you will still read this blog when I blog about my sexiest 30th birthday party ;)

Til then, I'll talk to you again soon.
Love,
Crystal
