Whenever I go on a trip, I'll try to capture as many memories as possible through my camera lens. This year, I try to film as many trips as I can, which also means that it will take me a lot more time and effort to finish a blog post. But it's worth it. With that said, you should watch my travelogue to
San Francisco and
Bali if you haven't done so. Please also subscribe to give me some love and support.
Like I said in the previous blog post, I lived in Malaysia for 5 years, but I wasn't involved in the fashion industry that much. It was my first time attending Kuala Lumpur Fashion Week (thanks to
BloggerBabes for the invite) and it was so wonderful. I can't say enough how much I enjoyed it.
We had a private driver picking us up at the airport. After 45 minute drive, I arrived at the hotel. Here is the bright and beautiful room that Ritz Carlton Kuala Lumpur prepared for us.
Look at how gorgeous this bathroom is!
Not to mention a bunch of welcome gifts from the KLFW organizer and SOME love notes from Ritz Carlton team.
I had only 1 hour to get situated and rest before my first hair and makeup with Bobbi Brown and Loreal hair team. When we are at the fashion week, we don't rest and sometimes don't even eat. We just go, go, go.
After hair and makeup, I walked back to the hotel room to change and get back out again for an interview with the Clozette team.
Front row babes watching the first show of the day
and getting camera-ready for the photographers.
In between shows, I had a quick street style photoshoot with Ricky Hang who was hired to take care of our street styles photoshoot.
Then, we came back to Pavilion shopping mall for the second show. Loved everything I saw from this collection of a Malaysian designer.
Last show of the first night was
@BettyTran, a Vietnamese Australian designer whom I'm honored to call her "Friend". Couldn't feel more proud of this Vietnamese sister. Her designs are so beautiful. You have to check her out!
For the past 3 years, KLFW was held at the Pavilion Shopping Center, the biggest shopping mall in Kuala Lumpur. I hope they'll never change the location because this view is insane.
Day 2 started at 11am. I thought I had more time to rest, but the night before ended late. We woke up late the next morning so by the time we got out of our hotel for breakfast, it was already 10am. Zoey, my assistant/photographer, and I walked to the mall nearby for breakfast and we quickly rushed to the backstage for hair and makeup again.
Always have time for some fresh flowers.
Loved how my hair and makeup went so well with my outfit.
Watching AirAsia Runway Ready Designer Search final round and witnessed so many stunning designs from talented design students around Asia. I love this long vest
and this top and skirt.
But I'm obsessed with these designs from a young designer from the Philippines. I guessed she would be the winner. In the end, she came in top 3. I was pretty close, wasn't I?
Another stunning designs from a Thailand designer.
Here is the winning collection also from Thailand designer. It was one of my favorite choices too.
We ended our night by an intimate dinner at the Ritz Carlton Hotel, hosted by
BloggerBabes.
The ambiance was fantastic.
The food was so delicious.
The conversation was endlessly fun. I felt so grateful for this opportunity that brought me back to Malaysia and connected me with many young, beautiful, and passionate women. Inspiration truly lies everywhere if we want to take a closer look.
Woke up to the box of macarons by
@Elevete (Thanks to Andrew, the founder of KLFW) on my last day in Kuala Lumpur.
This ended my KL Fashion Week on a sweet note. I don't have a sweet tooth, but seriously, I finished the whole box because they tasted so good.
Special thanks to
@LifestyleAsiaKL for this surprised and meaningful gift. This is by far the best gift I've ever received. Great job on drawing me without me sitting in front of you,
@misseleen_artist!
There is always time for a good morning bath no matter how busy a day can be. Enjoying my last few hours in Kuala Lumpur.
The world is such a big place, never stop wandering. I told myself this when I was 16 years old. Without that curious mind and passionate drive, I would never have left my country to start my own life at the young age. If I didn't do so, I wouldn't be where I am today.
I do believe that sometimes, there are many things in life that intimidate you, scare you, and sidetrack you, but as long as you keep moving and never stop dreaming, you'll eventually reach a place that is called "Success and Happiness". You might be small, but people will still notice you for what you've done.
Thank you so much for having me once again, KL Fashion Week & Blogger Babes.
More importantly, thank you for reading my blog and following my stories guys. I'm truly grateful.
I can't wait to talk about the next destination in the upcoming blog post. It's my ultimate dream city to be. Guess where?
